For those of us who have the joys of having Winter with us I hope today is not so cold for you. Here we are enjoying the sunshine from inside. It is beautiful but when we get out, the cold takes our breathe away. Oh there is just another 3 months to go with mother Winter so we might just have to travel South for a couple of weekends to break it up a little. Hong Kong is near us as well as so many Southern exotic countries such as Thailand, Singapore to name a few. We will have to pick a spot to warm our bones at for a few days he hee.
As for my old gal stamp collection it is not a huge one it is built slowly but I enjoy all of them. I think Thelma was asking me what is the company name of those stamps and it is American Art Stamps. No clue if they sell them online as they probably are. But I had purchased mine in a craft fair in Mesa, Arizona 2 years ago. There was quite a few really nice ones in the bunch but I had to select a few and she was one of my choices. Yes she can be used for a lot of occasions.
Sipping on my coffee right now makes me enjoy the warmth in my home while I Know how cold it is out there but it also makes me want to create a few things. Decoupage sheets and make more cards. So since both of them are the topic of today I better give you what you are here for:
Here is another card I made before Christmas with the recipe:
Recipe: You need 2 color of cardstock of your choice, 1 piece of scrapbook paper or printed one of your own pattern paper. I used two Nestibilities shapes on this card. Ones was of the label collection and the other one was the beaded ovals.
I used some pink ink on the edges of the cream colored card stock mat piece. I used the same pink ink on the beaded oval bubbles and once again around the inside frame where the charming lady sits. I used three rubber stamps, one was a fern like stamp called stampettes, the sentiment, Happy Birthday from Peddler's pack in Oregon, and again the Rubbernecker Lady I have in my collection. I colored her with some prismacolor colored pencils with the OMS technique.
I also used some really lovely pearls on the bottom right hand side of the card to match the themed color.
As for the Happy Birthday Nestibilities label I had used. Just know that on any frame, shape or form you use in the Nestibilities or frames and other shapes of their collections, you can use your inks and pouncers or sponges on them before you actually remove the frame after you have finished embossing it. Just pick a color that will match your main color theme and always start your inking from the outside edge, working your way in on top of the metal frame or shape you have. Always use a circular motion so you don't leave some darker lines in your work area.
This was fun to make I hope you can use this technique that you will find very uplifting as it brings so much more interest in your card. The same can be done if you have a tree you want to stamp. Before stamping the tree, just pick a frame, cut and emboss it, then ink from the bottom upward with no more than 3 colors to make a sunset scene and then when satisfied with the ink sponging work, add your tree to it and you will be shocked on how your image will pop nicely.
Please leave a few lines of comments on your way out it takes a few seconds and you will only make me feel good and appreciated. Then I can go ahead and create more for your own enjoyment. Not a bad deal at all when you think of it. I am sending all of you a really wide smile hoping that where ever you are in this world, you are happy and creative!
