Festive Favorites Stampin'Up set

It has been another very busy day with cards so here are my creations of today.

This is part of the Stampin'Up set called "Festive Favorites".  The 2 other cards are also part of the same set.  It can be found on page 53 set of 6.

  The back ground is made with VersaMark and White craft ink.  For the trees I used gold embossing powder and then I used the floor wax/pearl-ex technique.  This technique was used on the 3 cards shown here.

This set is wonderful as it also comes with the tags matching the designs.  It is a beautiful set and a very smart purchase.

Stampin'Up Take Two stamp set

1. This card is made with the Take Two stamp set.  It is a versatile set since it has the most used sentiment and can be found on page 129 of your Stampin'Up idea book and catalogue.

2. This is from the same stamp set and the same stamp but using different color scheme makes it look totally different, I think.

3.  Again with the same set, I took the Christmas Theme one and embellished with gold embossing powder, Krylon pen and gold cord bow.

Hoping that the two cards will inspire you and keep in mind these 2 cards can also be used for masculine card ideas.  Just enjoy!

Monday back to projects

I wanted to share 2 pictures of flowers I took a while back and played with a few of my software photo editing.

Many things will need to be prepared for next weekend.  Halloween candy for tomorrow night...Our water system works nicely by the way.  We will need to get a few days worth of clothing, camera gear, picnic basket, etc.  Grand Canyon here we come again! Stopping for a night in Sedona is also what we usually do after all it is our 5th anniversary so why not!

I will try and finish more cards today for the pleasure of my regular viewers, also for personal satisfaction.  Each time we change the clock in the Fall it affects my sleeping time immensely.  It takes me at least a good week to get into the new feel of not wanting to go to bed so early at night. Hee hee

If we take the lap top with us who knows I may be able to add a few pictures on here before we get back.

You are missed!

It has been a year since you passed on and you are still missed.

You were without a doubt like the child I never had.  You made me smile and warmed up my feet at night, for 11 years you never ceased to amazed me with your new tricks to make us laugh!

Pineapple

I got bored, yes we are still installing Osmosis hee hee!

Well, I thought I should take this opportunity to show a surprise we came across last week.  Not long ago I had bought a pineapple and decided to keep the greenery of it and I just let it sit in a glass of water.  I'd say about every 3 or 4 days I would change the water and peel off the bottom part that had rotten leaves left on the stump.

This became a habit and soon I wasn't even looking at the plant itself I was just changing the water checking the getting longer and longer roots is all!  Last week hubby was at the kitchen sink and noticed something coming out from the middle of the pineapple plant and asked me if I had seen it?  Of course I hadn't seen it.  He showed me this.

I thought, well, if this is turning out to grow when I had no idea it would turn into something fun to watch growing, we thought it deserved a nice pot so we got it one!  Now let see what it will look like in another month.

The ironic thing is I used to be able to grow Avocado trees very easily, I gave one away as a proof.  But since we moved back here I have tried about 6 pits and none will grow roots.

It is just hilarious that all of the sudden a plant I had no difficulty growing from a simple pit, now just is as stubborn as I am.  Perhaps it is sending me a message! hee hee

Water tasting awful (still)

Will be spending some valuable time under kitchen sink this weekend.  No card making unless we get it done soon.  New filtration system put in to solve the Yakky water taste. Late with emails, will get to them when there is a chance.

UPDATE:  We are still working on the system.  We had to run errands for the tools needed for the installation so it slowed us down some.

Also wanting to make my 5th Wedding Anniversary card for my wonderful hubby soon! It is next Friday, but we will be away visiting the Grand Canyon again at that time.  Preparing to take stunning photos, since it is my favorite site for photography.

3D Design in a frame

Today I am finishing the work I started yesterday on a 3D design in a wooden frame.  It is an experiment, but so much fun to make.

Stampin'Up products cards

Here are some of the cards I had made last week and were not posted yet.  There are 5 of them, all are made of Stampin'Up products except for the leaves.  Enjoy!

This one I also used the the floor wax technique on the leaves.

The next 4 cards I used watercolor pencil to color the details and a metal paint plate as per illustrated below.

Just different colors and little monkeys!

Update on monitor

My monitor was here at about 11 am. I was so impressed on how fast it got here when we ordered it at about 2 pm the day before.  No more black outs it stays on until I shut it off when I am ready!  No more interruptions and frustrations, problem solved.

Today is a test day for what I have left in patience.  My monitor black outs have multiplied in a way that I want to damage the rest of my system (LOL).  But I will be nice.  Let see if the Overnight Delivery will work in this neck of the woods.  Since everything else is slow with deliveries I am hoping I will be pleasantly surprised.

So today before I get back to working on my multiple projects I wanted to send a flower to everyone who will take the time to read my daily blog.

Christmas Card idea

It is a cloudy day out here today.  A day to get more work done.  So I say!  Well I also have been experiencing computer monitor problems since yesterday.  I will make this quick it blacks out when it gets warm so I have little time to post my card.

Thank you Phyllis.  She sent me punch outs of a Christmas tree so I could make this Christmas tree card.  I embellished it with Krylon pen and acrylic gold paint.  Not sure if we can see exactly all the work but this is what it gave me with a good light when I took the picture.

Between projects today I saw a card I wanted to try out of pure curiosity. 

This is a 100% Stampin'Up creation.  I hope it gives you ideas, I thought it was a very fun card to make so I made 4 of them two different sentiments.  Enjoy!

Thinking about Christmas Cards

I have been looking through my folders of older cards to get more ideas to start my next batch of Christmas Season 2006 on a roll.  I have an unrelated to Stampin'Up card I wanted to share with you since it is very simple and classic looking!

A few cards

It was a very busy house work Sunday, so after being done with chores I decided to take pictures of some of the SU cards that had not seen the day on digital camera yet.  I am posting 3 for now and more on another day.

The Stampin'Up designer papers printed on both sides are so convenient, practical and also so easy to mix and match.

Simple and quick cards are always welcome in a workshop environment since there can be new stampers in attendance.  So, simple is in, fun, and inexpensive if you have to make many of the same card.

This one was fun to make when I needed to make a dozen of it. So there is another idea of simple.

It is getting late, so I better get back to my tidying up my craft room to start fresh in the morning.

Uneventful Saturday

I have not visited my craft room today, I have been busy online doing searches.  Will have to add my new Iris folding frames I made last night!  But later. But what I need the most right now is a

I am back with the pictures.

I have learned that when I take pictures keeping in mind there is glass involved it is next to impossible to not to get a flash spot no matter what angle I take the picture.  This one was an exception, I used a couple of fingers in front of the flash.  I am sure there is a rightway.  For now this is the one without the flash!

Well this is the best I can do with the equipment I have, but it's not bad though.  To lazy to set up the Canon right now.

I have 2 more Gold colored frames ready to get iris folding art in them but, this time I will use red and gold combination!  It should be very interesting to say the least.  Will post them when done.

A day at the Spa

Today was fun I spent most of the day at the Spa, it was very relaxing.  I could easily do this once a month!

I made a few cards as mentioned yesterday for a good cause and sent them out today, I forgot to take a picture of them.  Fortunately I took a picture of the Thanks Giving card I made.  I made 8 of them total.  Here is the proof.

The canvas stamp was used for the background just in case it is not well seen.

I made more of the Iris folding framing tonight but I am too tired to take pictures now, it will have to wait. If you are reading this thank you for your visit.

Startled, but it was fun

As I was working away in my craft room this morning, from the corner of my eye there was something new scenery wise.  I looked up and there it was a hot air balloon going up 500 yards away behind my front neighbors house.  I rushed to take a picture before it was going away, they rarely come this far from the city so when I can I run for a quick shot!  So here it is.

It was a very busy day for me.  I made 10 Sympathy cards which 4 of this bunch will go for sale to benifit good causes.  More cards are to be made for this organization.

For today I thought I'd finish the Iris folding project and I am so glad it is finished.

I had never tried framing Iris folding work in the past but it sure is nice and decorative. 

I am pleased with the results. 

Time to wrap up for the day and think about my man's appetite when he makes it home from work soon!

Wednesday, hump day! 

I think we had our first freezing night last night.  It was rather cool this morning.  Soon we will see a white coat covering the mountain.

Today I plan on making a few cards so I won't be so much online adding pictures in my Gallery but will do more soon.
