I want to point out that the last card to the left is made with stickers on the white card stock, she created her own background and on the top of her stamped heart she added the ever so popular paper flowers.  Clever Lady!

Snow storm over (13 inches)

Hi folks!

The snow storm is finally behind us.  We have beat records of over 50 years just in 2 days.  Now I am praying for some sun to make it all melt hee hee.

I will post more cards from two friends of mine later tonight.  Phyllis has already made a few Valentine's Day cards so it should give you some ideas for creating your own.

   

These are the beautiful cards Phyllis made for us.  I will add more cards from the two talented ladies tomorrow.

On another positive note, I was also given permission to post Jan's cards from Australia.  She is amazingly creative with punch art.  You will know what I mean as soon as I add her work to my page.  I will also add an album with her name on it.  So if you miss her cards on front page you will be able to refer to her album.

A beautiful example of a Stampin'Up card from Sue

Hi Readers!

As promised here is another card I received in the mail for the Holidays.  My friend Sue in California sent me this beautiful card I couldn't help but wanting to share with all of you.  Enjoy!  Thank you Sue! :)

Sue three complimentary colors on her white background card which makes it stand out.  She used the Happiest of Holidays stamp set and the matching wheel.  She also added a glitter pen to the berries.  Can't see it well on the picture but it's there. Thank you Sue for this beautiful card.

How do we spell SNOW?

Well here we are on the 29th of December 2006 having more of the white stuff again!

It started last night and stopped for a while and started back again in full force at 5 am. Did I have a chance to miss it?  Nooooooooooooooooooo LOL

Anyhow for my friends that dream about seeing snow in UK here it is folks!

Well there is an estimated 6 inches fallen so far.  Here we are so not totally prepared for snow like this, that we get paralysed quite fast because the roads becomes too dangerous especially in the hills and people don't know or are not used to drive in the snow.  I call it totally defensive driving having to watch all your sides at once. hee hee

I will post a beautiful card I received from another friend of mine later on today.

It is made with Stampin'Up products!  Come back it is really pretty!

Always give a big smile, it makes some people wonder what you are up to hee hee!

I have not been too active in making cards since my wonderful husband gave me that sewing, embroidery, quilting, computerized machine.  I have been playing with my new toy, getting to know all the bells and whistles.  Soon I will take recommended lessons for my new toy.

So I will be able to make more cards in a few days or even before.

Your smile is a mirror of your soul!  Why not build a great reputation for it!

OUR CHRISTMAS LUMINARIES

How was Christmas for everyone?  Ours was very much fun!

Last night we tried to light up the Luminaries around the house (50 of them) but the wind was not allowing to light the candles or it would blow away the bags that already had rocks in them to keep them in place.  It wasn't an ordinary wind.  So tonight we checked and the wind was gone. So we got busy and lit all of them.  It was fun to do.

We then took pictures to share with family members on both sides, and now for YOU!

Christmas EVE!

Well we just opened our Christmas presents.  I could not be more shocked than this.  I got the Bernina Aurora 440 Quilter's Edition including the BSR (Bernina Stitch Regularor).

Only Bernina has it!  I could go on and on about it I will spare you.  To make it short, it is a Quilter's dream and a wonderful embroidery machine, computerized with over 145 stitches and so many patterns for embroidery.  It needle threads on  it's own.  Makes buttonholes and stops automatically when finished... This thing almost talks!!!!

I was questioning putting a picture of my present on here but I can hear a few of my friends already wondering why I would do that to them, hee hee.  So here it is before the pressure gets all the way here, hee hee ......... I was spoiled rotten and I know it!  Oh he was too!

So as you can see I have a lot to learn. There are so many bells and whistles on this wonder that we will take classes starting in January 2007.

The ones who wonder...yes I will still make cards, and maintain this site and clean up the house and....so on.  Proper time management skills will have to be implemented is all. Yep (grinning)

Well as I always say be creative it is contagious and may make someone else smile looking at what you made!

Friday before Christmas!

Hi everyone.  Busy day here, preparing for the weekend and Christmas.  Hubby is home now until after New Years so this will be fun.

In the meantime the Christmas cards are coming in and I thought I should post 2 of my cards for the time being.  The first one is from my friend Jo Anne who has an album, she made a snowman with the one stoke painting technique.  It is an adorable card.  Thanks Jo Anne! (I wish I could paint just a hat ;) LOL

The second card (right hand side) comes from Phyllis who has an album here as well.  She stamped and embossed the poinsettia stamp first and then added embossed paper to create the poinsettia, finished it with glitter in the middle, added some peel offs, matted the main piece twice, and you have a very attractive card. Thanks Phyllis!

Thank you creative ladies!  Your cards are on my wall of fame for Christmas cards.

Pineapple UPDATE + Banana Bread Baking

I will try to add a few things on here later today.  Right now I am trying to make a banana bread.  So first thing's first!

Also when I get a chance I will take another photo of my famous home growing pineapple so we can compare the growt from 2 months ago to now.  Don't miss it!

I will start with adding the newest pineapple photo.  The picture on the left was taken back early November when Hubby discovered that there was a pineapple growing inside the leaves.  That was a big joke here.  Anyway, the one on the left is the first picture I took and the one on the right is today's!  There is an inch higher more and is growing it's new set of leaves.  Enjoy!  We are.....hee hee

I added this picture of my banana bread I baked this afternoon.  The recipe is from my mother's.  Please find attached the recipe for the Banana bread.

The snow storm is over!

We took some pictures later on today with more snow and when the sun was setting for amazing pictures.  Here they are.

Why so many pictures of snow?  Because it had been 5 years since I had seen a real snow fall and besides, when we don't have to shovel it, it is prettier.

When I opened up my eyes this morning!

Hi Everyone!

I just had to share these! It is not very common to have this kind of event here but I thought I should share.

Pictures of snow we are having today, it hasn't stopped since I got up!  Oh LA LA!

We are at the accumulation point now where if it doesn't stop by night time some of the roads will close. Right now the roads are wet...

This picture above here shows some of the moments where the snow was falling slowly with big flakes each time I look outside, it changes and makes me want to go back take more photos.

Secondly I will try and post more cards today.  There are days I just can't come up with anything even if I squeeze my brains out.  Yesterday was one of them.

3D CARD

It is Sunday.  The weekend is coming to an end.  Before it does though, I want to add one card to the post.  It is a 3D card.

Here it is!

This card was matted a total of 5 times.  Following the color themes of the lady's clothing.  I gold embossed the Happy Birthday and the rest is peel offs.  No lacquer was used on this card but a little glitter was added to the border of the hat and the contour of the scarf.

Friday is a special day my Husband turns "50" so we will be busy all day.  So I will return the following day with more pictures.  Have a great Friday all!

Now with more 3D cards

Where are the days going?  Wow.  No wonder it feels like a year is only 6 months long nowadays! hee hee

I will be low key for a few days since it will be Hubby's Birthday on Friday and we will be out all day!

Here is a card for today!  Yep another 3D one and I particularly like the classic style.  It was fun to make.

This 3D design was from Joan in the club I belong to.  I made this 3D I added lacquer on the hat, buttons, bow, and collar.  I printed with the exact same colors the Happy Birthday sentiment, added some Peel Offs, matted the 3D twice for good contrast all done on an Hanko Designs card stock.

This cup of flowers card was made by dry embossing a blue frame, adding a background SU paper where I also added Peel Offs (Thank you) and the chain like around the frame.

Added a butterfly made of peel offs as well, adhered the cup of flowers to the card then lacquered the whole 3D design.  To finish it up I added some peel offs to the corners of the card.

The snowman in the hills card was made by tearing up some white card stock to mimick snow hills. Used chalk to color the teared edges of the hills. Snowflakes were silver embossed in the blue background. Adhered the snowman to the hills and lacquered him up completely.  With a glue pen I dotted the background around the snowflakes so I could add some glitter to the card.  There you have it.

Today Wednesday is my Dad's Birthday!

I posted last night his photo and his card I sent him.  I hope he sees this as a surprise for him.

For today I have another sample SAB set card to post.  It is part of the set called (Delight in life) I have posted a few cards earlier on this week with this set.  So here it is.

Now this card I already had flowers left over from the other card I made this week, so I decided to use SU paper (lined pattern paper on left side of card) then added some dots on the right with a stamp part of this set.  The larger flower in the set I stamped in green and cut all petals individually to make leaves with it.  I collaged all the flowers, added leaves, lacquered all the flowers and added some glitter to it all while it was wet from the lacquer application.  I took my set of tags with punch from SU and stamped a thanks, punched it out and added it to the card.  There you have it!

One Stampin'Up card Sample

I can now say, I am done with Christmas Cards for this year!  Yippee.  All sent, I have a brand new list saved to Word for next year and life goes on. hee hee

This card is another sample of the Sell-a-Bration sets (SAB) this set is called So Very (set of 8) beautiful stamps.  In this stamp set, you have the words (So Very) (Blessed) (loved) (Sorry) (HAPPY) (Sweet) (Missed) and (Cute) all the words are of different sizes and fonts.  This is my personal favorite.

Finally! Stampin'Up Cards!

This is one creation I made 3 years ago when I started with PSP.

Finally, I made a few cards with the new sets I received on Friday I must say, the transition from the 3D world to the stamping one wasn't easy.  I had to put away all of the 3D's I had put together, papers, stickers, and be serious with ideas for SU cards.

Here are some of them.  Some look alike as it was just to show different combinations to a same card. Enjoy!

This set on the left handside is called Happy Harmony (set of 6). You can get it in January-February 2007 during the Sell-a-Bration sale by purchasing 50$ or more worth of Stampin'Up products, before tax.

This set is called Delight in life (set of 6).  There are 3 similar cards posted just to show a few changes can be made so your cards look a little different each time.

  This one the flower is placed as a diamond shape and the middle flower was added some crystal effect to it.

The last card of this trio combination, the middle is also lacquered but I changed the sentiment to a Happy Birthday card to show that the sets are very versatile in any which way your creativity want to go.

This Chirp Up card is from the SAB sets, this set is called Very Punny (Set of 8) They are all so cute.  The paper comes from one of the SU paper collections.  I used SU markers for the bird colors and Gingham ribbon.

Still working hard I may come up with another card today for another set.

Busy Day!

Nothing much to report other than I have been busy and away from my craft room.  I know it is very unusual but true.  But, a consolation for me is that I might have more time to play tomorrow.  So Keep on coming I will add my newest creations as they are made.

This white rose I tweaked a little with some of my photo effect software.  It looks different but still nice in my opinion.

Sometimes I do impress myself with what I come up with not that it is necessarily planned as such but in the end if I am happy with what I see, I keep it. :)

Hi Everyone.  Happy Friday!

Stampin'Up new stamp sets coming in today!  It should be fun!  New styles of cards coming in soon!  Trying to please everyone!  Here are some of my own Christmas cards.

This card was made with the wide ribbon we purchase to make big Holiday decorative bows with.  I cut my die cut shape then applied some dry clear glue to adhere the ribbon to the die cut.  I had the edge of the ribbon I cut about 3 inches long of it it looks like serger edge, made a single knot and placed it on top of the ornament.  Gold glittered the Merry Christmas, matted twice, card done.

This card was made on a textured red card stock gold glitter embossed the trees and the seasons greetings, matted the whole design twice, card done.

Try doing the same thing but on velveteen paper especially the blue colored one.  You will have stunning results.

3D CARDS (added more)

Hi everyone,

Here I have posted 4 3D cards today.  "The bakery chefs card" There is just a little glitter glue added to the cake, no lacquer was applied on this card.  The edges were done applying the ink pad and dragging it to leave a small trace on the outside edges.  4 Brads were used.  Peel offs were not forgotten.  Added much love to that one as well!

This "Cocker Spaniel card" was fun and a little longer in the making. I Dry embossed a pocket and leaves.  Added some gathered white lace ribbon.  Glittered the dog's ribbon and stocking fur.  Gold Embossed the Holiday wishes, peel offs and another one was finished.

The "Mouse in a frame card".  I lacquered the whole mouse and flowers, I added some stones at each corner of the frame.  Used some Peel Offs for the sentiment and corners.

This "Rose Bouquet card" below, has a vellum behind the oval cut out.  Added the 3D at the bottom for a "look at me effect!"  I then lacquered every single flower in the bouquet, left it to dry. Once dry, I added water droplets with the lacquer and leave it to dry as is again.  Peel Offs were added to finish off the look of the card.

There you have it!

Thursday! Almost the weekend!

So excited.  I am supposed to get my stamp sets tomorrow so the anticipation is getting high!  Stampin'Up sets of course.  Sell-A-Bration sale event is approaching fast, I will need to make a few samples to show on here.  Those cards should start being posted by next Monday.  In the meantime I am trying to post as many 3D's as I can before I need to push the 3D's out of my table to make room to stamping again. 

I will post a card or two soon!

Be creative, I never take it for granted.  I too have days where I can't think of one technique to use. :) makes you appreciate the days where you can't make enough!

Decorated house & my new 3D card

This is my latest little guys.  I had fun with them and I hope it will make you smile at the sight of them.

I thought I should take a picture of the front of our house.  It makes it look so big with all the lights.  But it was our first time so we start small.

3D CARDS

I hope your Tuesday is pleasant so far.  I have a lot of catch up going on but overall I can't complain.  Deep blue skies today with a hope of warming back up to the 50F's so that is what I can live with anytime.  Well, I have been busy last night making more 3D cards.  I had spent the weekend cutting out almost non stop.

Here is the fun snowman with his little birdy friend that was a fun one to make it was quick and painless. :)

The blue on this sheppard boy is so beautiful I hope you can see it well, I added glitter glue to it in the darkest spots, it makes it pop out even more. Enjoy!

This rose, I decided to dry emboss and cut out the oval, I added a floral vellum in the background adding a softer touch to it.

I don't know if we can call this look "antique" but I liked it from the first time I looked at it.  It reminds me of the blueberry seasons when I was a child. Fond memories indeed.  Enjoy!

This blue rose was fun to make also, I finished it with lacquer as well as some glitter while it was still wet.  Added some mulberry paper to the back.  Another card was born, fun fun fun

The piled up snowmen were so easy to cut out and put together.  I white embossed some snow flurries on the dark blue card stock then adding the litle guys to it. I matted again with white.  I added some pell offs, added some puffy paint for the berries and leaves.

I don't know if I will have more time to make more tonight but if I do I will probably keep them for tomorrow's blog.

My Japanese Quilting card & 3D

Gee where did the weekend go?  Monday is errand and house chores day.  I just wanted to say cards will be added later when I come back from driving around.  I have a Japanese Quilting card.  I created my own template.  Email me I will send you the template if you are interested.

The stampin Up set I used for the leaves is called "Artfully Asian" on P.89 in the catalog. Hanko Designs washi paper and card stock were used for this card.

And added the 3D Ballerina with a matching vellum in the background.  More 3D to come in the morning!

It just feels so good to be able to share some great work with everyone.  Phyllis sent me quite a few cards it seems she is keeping as busy as I am.  But in the meantime here are some of her cards. Japanese quilting is one of my favorite technique as I call it my pillowed 3D cards. Phyllis did a great job putting all the squares together, the cards are all finely detailed so this is why I am posting them for your enjoyment and mine!

Another fun thing to do is to play with peel offs there has been all kinds on the market.  It is certainly a great addition to our card making craze.  Phyllis once again I really like your work!  Thank you!
