Gloria's Birthday Cards

Hi everyone

There was yet another Birthday today of one of our girlfriends this week.  The group as always got together for a Lunch get together and gave her beautiful cards.  So here are more Birthday card ideas of general stamp companies a few are from Stampin'Up as well.

Awwwwwww Hildegard!  What another beauty!  I like your 3D card as always.  I have a great bif weakness for 3D's.  Gloria is lucky to get such beautiful cards made by such great friends and talents, let's not forget the Talent with a "Capital T".  Good luck at CHA girl! :)

Hello Jo Anne, you are making me wish Spring is right around the corner for us here in New Mexico.  Even is snow is falling as I am typing this up.  Punched out flowers is another weakness of mine so each time is see a card made out of them I smile big.  Great work Jo Anne, Lucky Gloria!

You got me curious!  What did you use to make the hearts with? I can see it is looking like you may have used some Lacquer over patterned paper, but it could also be something else.  I like the effect it gives to the whole card!  Thank you again for another beauty! :)

I was happy to share more beautiful cards coming from my friends.  I hope you will get some ideas from their cards as I find their makers very creative it really makes me want to create more!

Instructions of a 6 pocket wallet

Hi everyone, Happy Wednesday!

I spent some time to put together the instruction of this wallet so it is much easier to make it since I can't show it to you myself on a video, but I made a picture to all of the steps.  I am showing the finished product below.  If you want the instructions for the wallet seen on this page, go to the album "Special Technique" and get it from there.  There is two sheets to copy from. Stampin'UP Binder Clip Scrapbook Measurements

Today I want to post pictures of scrapbook albums I have seen at the convention and took pictures of.  The flower stamp comes with one of the 6 choices in the Sell-A-Bration special.  I have seen T-shirts made with that stamp as well.  I love it and I am glad I purchased it recently.  On this note let start with the instructions then photos albums.

   

Well this is what you will need to make the scrapbook album.  I know pictures are usually not telling the whole thing but this project is very straight forward, if you have a huge flower to use for it go ahead and use it.  I personally think this flower is the best for this album.  Plus your creativity will provide you with new ideas coming from this one.  I would love to see what you make if you take this project and go ahead with it.  Let me see how different this book can look like and still be stunning!

I will add more example cards later.  The cards I am adding unless I specifically mention it they are not made by myself.  Therefore I will not save an album for the cards you see for the next little while.  So if you like them copy them to your records because it will not be here to get later. But for now this is what I have. 

I also have a few techniques to talk about to embellish cards like fake metal tags and the sparkly effect you see on the scrapbook album in this topic.  It is stunning to see in person.  You will want to give it a try and see for yourself what you are left with when you put your heat gun down.

Look at what I got in the mail today!

Hi everyone,

Now I have a funny one to tell you.  Phyllis another friend of mine sent me 2 cards in the mail I received them today.  Do you remember when I posted my stitch swatches that I had done with my new sewing machine?  Well, she printed the pictures of it and got the clever idea to use it for flower containers or commonly called vases.  Take a look at them:

Last year we had a good time making home made paper in class and in Phyllis's garage a whole day among friends.  I had so much teaching the basics of making paper 101 that we all caught the bug and wanted to make more and try different techniques colors and fibers...

So she sent me this card which is the handmade paper she had left from our get together.  Anyhow can you recognize the vase part?  Pretty clever of you Phyllis.  I like this card so very much.  Of course when I see Peel Offs I am sold! hee hee.

So I invite any of you to go and get that swatch of stitches I had made, print it out and with your punches experiment with it.  Just Like Phyllis did!

Now there comes the second beauty!

This one is also gorgeous, it makes me want Spring to get here yesterday!  This is such  a colorful card, the colors are balanced, it looks like everything belong where it is without a doubt.  Phyllis and Jo Anne have inspired me to make more cards again.  Thank you my friends.

Just added this one as it is Phyllis's class version of the gold embossed square it is also very pretty.  She added the turquoise background shimmer paper so it is making this card look more expensive.  I too love to finish cards at home from a class because I can use all of my embellishments and dress it up a little better, good job Phyllis...

Before I forget I have another beautiful card to post.  Jo Anne found the resistor that was the main item on the card so she was searching for it and sent me the card last night.  So here it is.  That is her 10th card she made in a local class with other friends.

I like a card that has the irresistable look.  I think it is also very nice.  Al the 10 cards were made in about 3 hours. Impressive.

Beautiful cards made by Jo Anne

Hi everyone

Sorry I am late.  I had in mind to prepare all the pictures of the Stampin'Up convention all day today and all I could succeed in doing was 3 saved.  But I had promised to post the 5 other cards that Jo Anne had generously given me to post on here.  So here are 5 more lovely cards she made herself:

This card is also pretty a circle punch made the balloon then a stamped present was added to the card as well as she scribbled around the card to add more charm to it. A cute red stone was adhered on top of the I on the Birthday word.

I like this card with the wire twisted with a red glass bead to make the cake holder foot and the use of the sequin type flowers to make the cake.  There was a stamped cake under the sequins all we see is the candles from the stamped image. Some scribble on the outside edge was added once again to add some definite charm to it, a finishing touch "Happy Birthday" sentiment was added, voila! it is lovely!

Note: All the ways you can use stamps and hide a part of a design with the use of some embellishment is always a welcome creative effect, dare living outside the box!

This beautiful card I keep repeating myself but I find them all beautiful.  A black card stock square as used to stamp an image with Versa Mark then she gold embossed it, Jo Anne told me that if she was to redo this card she would use a white card stock background so the image would stand out even more.

This card on the right is another good idea to use a (Krylon) 18K gold marker to black card stock, improvising your own design, then add some decorative ribbon to finish it up with your stamped thoughts as the final piece can also be finished up with a gold marker frame.

Important:  When making use of the Gold Marker or other colors, make sure that your card stock dries the ink well.  If for instance you are using glossy paper with the gold pen you will have to protect it with a fixative.  Sadly I learned this by seeing one of my cards being ruined instantly when I was pushing the card into an envelope.  It smeared the card and the inner envelope.  I suggest to run a test first on the card stock you will be using on your card.  "Brilliant"

The last card but not the least for tonight.  I am so glad I have that stamp.  hee hee  I will be able to steal some of the idea.  This stamp is so cute and it comes in two sizes.  One smaller size to use in the back of your card to identify who made the card.  It is gorgeous.

This pretty square shaped card is stamped on a pale pink card stock or beige (hard to tell) and colored lightly.  She then stamped the brown or burgundy background with tiny flowers (WaterMark) matching the bunch of flowers.  She finished it with a matted "Thanks a bunch" sentiment. 

You have done such nice work Jo Anne and thank you for sharing it all with us.  You have an open invitation to send again and again, hee hee.  Great ideas will come from all your cards if not copied.  I sure will take some of the ideas and create!

Tomorrow I am working hard toward putting through many (will not commit to any number) but many Stampin'Up cards that I took pictures of at the Convention.  I took many of them but some are not crispy clear like I had wished for.  Blue is such a hard color to come through 20/20.  I will send the prettiest and clearest ones for a few days.

Beautiful cards made by Jo Anne

Hi everyone

I am so happy I have something very pretty to show you today and tomorrow.  Jo Anne a good friend of mine made 9 cards and volunteered to send them to me so I could share with you all.  Some are for Valentine's Day and some are for Birthdays.  So I will post 4 today and 5 tomorrow in no specific order.  She was also very nice to give me a little paragraph on each on how they were made.  So here they are:

This beautiful card was made with a square punch, she then used a krylon pen (Gold marker) she outlined the squares with it.  She also used some light wire and heart brads to attach the wire at each end.

Well done Jo Anne

This lovely card is made with a Japanese stamp with the well know cat pattern.  She used the gold band of card stock, she stamped the red matted background with a circle dotted stamp and finished it on a white card stock.

This cute card was easy to make also.  She punched out red circles, glued them onto the card, then she stamped the Happy Birthday in embossed black, then matted it on the silver card stock and finally adhered it to the white circled card

Clever!

This gorgeous card was made by stamping black hearts on a piece of cardstock.  Then she took a strip of vellum and stamped a wing (embossed in silver) then added a beaded heart shape to the middle of the wing.  She added her red card stock to the blue card, she then added a silver cord in the card fold adding beads at the end of the cord for such a fancy look.

Valentine Card Idea

Hi everyone

I have started to look around for ideas for Valentine's Day cards.  With a mix of ideas and inspiration I came up with this card.

This card was fun and easy to make.  You need vellum, small envelope template, purple ribbon, backing card stock, printed or stamped and colored Valentine heart shaped candy.  Textures pink card stock to finish the card.

The candies are actually stuck on the back flap of the envelope so there is no glue trace to be seen on the vellum when the envelope is shut.  Very simple and classic card.  Peel offs could be added to the corners, but I chose to leave the card as is.

Be creative, it is addictive and contageous!

Tuesday night

Hello friends,

Today I got closer to my sewing project, I pinned the pattern to the fabric so tomorrow I can cut it and then do the same with the contrast and the lining.  I am making a craft bag with a 2 way zipper, so far it feels like I am way over my head but, I will make it.

I plan on posting it when it is done.  That will be some incentive to do a great job if I needed an incentive hee hee.  In the meantime I have had a good time stitching some of what my sewing machine can stitch, and you can only see some...here it is....

I just used some doubled muslin and lined up for each stitch!

It took a few hours just for the two swatches to be completed.  I will frame them so I have them in front of me when I am sewing.  That was Mark's suggestion.  I thought it was a good one.

Be creative, no matter what you do, do it well...you never know who will look at what you have made!

Sore toe!

Hi everyone.  Oh I had a strange way to start my day today!

I smashed my small toe on one of the bed wheels and oh for about 5 minutes I had tears falling down while I was walking the pain off.  I might get a blue nail but it wouldn't be the first time.  Man that hurts!

I also wanted to add that the cards I posted last night that came from my great friend Jo Anne, she makes a lot of cards as she is a sorority member of her town and has been for ever (I will stay away from saying how many years) she and some members are making cards to sell, so the profits go to local organizations who need help.  The Veterans are one of them, they also make lap robes for wheel chair people and so on.  She is an expert at it! She is multi talented and I am proud to call her my very dear friend!

She is also humble and calls her work simple, I think her cards are very beautiful, effective and she makes the funniest cards as well.  Her sense of humor is one that makes me smile each time I have a not so good day!

Anytime I can participate and make cards for them I do.  I usually try to make more of one kind so I put that one aside to send on a regular basis.  It is my small way to give back I hope we all have a place where we can make our cards count for those in need.

Sharing is a sure road to happiness!  Donating is total happiness!

Great news and new cards from a friend

Hi everyone,

I have been quiet lately due to making a lot of 3D sheets that I have become totally addicted to after being pre-warned I went ahead andgot the bug really hard too.

I have great news.  My mother was hospitalized for a serious infection last week and she was supposed to get out today.  I was told it was unofficial news but likely would be out today.  If she has it her way I am sure she is at home hee hee.  Welcome home Mom.

About the cards from a friend, Jo Anne is the friend who agreed for me to insert her newest card creations.  It is a mix of greeting cards and I think they all look lovely from one to the next, so here they are and enjoy!  I know I did!

   

I'd like to thank Jo Anne for her allowing my posting her beautiful work.  I will also add those cards to her "Jo Anne's Album" found on the right hand side of the page.

In the meantime be creative, it is contagious!

Hello friends

Just saying Hi and tell you I am still alive and kicking!  I have so many projects on the go and when I get into this mode for some reason nothing gets done.  So I will have to prioritize again and soon.  As you can see on the page to the top right hand side I have added a new link.....I have another web page that I have added my new 3D sheets I made myself last week.  It will likely ask you for a password.  If you want it just email me and I will give it you.  But you need to email me first.

I also have a correction to make.  When I posted Phyllis's Valentine's Day cards I have added one card that was Jo Anne's card and not Phyllis so I am posting Jo Anne's card here so it is seen with the right owner's name. It will also be forwarded to her album as well.  Please accept my apologies Jo Anne and Phyllis thank you for mentioning it so we can straighten out my boo boo!

Not much to report today!

Hi folks

Well I went to my class all afternoon today.  I was somewhat disappointed since I thought I was going to learn a lot.  Since I had already made some embroidery pieces to me it ended up being a simple review of what I already knew.  I learned that I had a virtual sewing machine in my software, it was fun to watch.  We also played with alphabet and how to change the letters and so on.

I will have time tomorrow to try it again and make a few cards.

Be creative, it's healthy!  Oh we are expecting more snnnnnooooowwwww! White stuff oh noooooooooooooooooo!

Busy days, no time to post

Well, I must say between getting ready for my class of 4 hour long tomorrow and making 3D sheets I have had little time to care for this page.  I am hoping by Friday I will have more to post unless tomorrow brings me more time to do that first thing in the morning!
