Hi friends
Well I can officially announce that our vacation time is over and I am back to work. I had a fantastic Birthday with my wonderful husband Mark but it had to come to an end. This is when we appreciate coming back home in our own environment and BED!!!! Until the next vacation my friends, here I am.
Now to make it snappyI will tell you some of the highlights on our trip. We had excellent weather as in NO rain, sunny and warm all the way. That is what to expect when in California. We stayed with Phyllis one of the craftyladies group of friends for a few days where we were spoiled with caring attention with a fantastic hostess that she is. Thank you Phyllis!
We all went to a Rubberstamping Show as Jo Anne mentioned in one of her comments a few days ago and it was certainly like the good old days. The only change was that our show had moved to another location with free parking which gives us extra to spend on our addiction LOL and we did well. I had a great day as there was 2 booths that were carrying the peel offs stickers so very appreciated in our crafting field. Do I need to say I went crazy on them as well as buying more from Hildegard who owns www.stonebridgecreations.com so I came home with 5 inches thick of peel offs to sort out.
I visited with a few friends, the ones that were around while we were there. We had fun as I had been missing them more than I can say!
We then were on our way to Los Angeles where we spent a few days to visit with my stepdaughter and appear on TV on a game show hee hee. Then the next day it was my Birthday so we drove to Las Vegas about 4 hours drive and spent another few days there having a good time. We didn't see any shows as the ones we cared about we had already seen over the past 4 years. So we walked and sight seen since there are a lot of new casinos the scenery in Las Vegas when we got in was so different so many more towers such as Trump, Palms, THEhotel, etc... My Birthday was fun fun fun!
Then we came home to a full City with Hot Air Balloons filling up the clear blue sky! WOW!
I took very few pictures so when I finally sort them out I will post a few on here for your viewing pleasure hoping I don't bore you with them. hee hee hee
I was spoiled with beautiful cards for my Birthday so I took pictures of them to share with you. I will send them in 2 batches. Valerie's Birthday was on the 5th 2 days after mine so she also will send me her card photos to share with you this week.
I am happy to be back, a little more rested then I was when we got here on Friday night but it was hard not to look at my blog the whole time I was away. Phyllis has a Apple computer that cured me fast. Apple and I don't get along so I was forced to stick to my main email the whole time hee hee. I hope you have beautiful cards to send me for sharing!
Nicole, your friend!

Here are a few of my Birthday cards I received by snail mail
This card is from Candy one of my California friends. Candy your card is absolutely beautiful. The colors are much better in person as the pink is clearer than on the picture, I also recognize one of my 3D sheets. Thank you Candy, it was fun to find this in the mail box when we returned. :)

This great looking card is from my good friend Di who sent me another 3D card with a shimmering pink background, I think this card is also great looking. I have all my cards on top of my computer desk to enjoy for at least a good week! Thank you Di.
Di has recently become a granny for the first time. A grand baby girl was born on October 3rd, what a nice date that is hee hee. So let me congratulate the new baby girl's parents as well as the new grandparents Di and John. Congrats to your entire family from all of us.

This sky blue card is from Dora one of the craftyladies. This kimono is made of washi paper (Japanese made paper) it has shimmer to it and the background is like (risking a guess) of a dryer sheet material that has been died and glittered. It is such an attractive card the blue is beautiful. The pattern for this kimono folding technique is on the Special Techniques album found on this page. Dora your card really got my attention as to look into how you made the background specifically. Great looking card, thank you!
Dora it was great seeing you again, you looked good with a happy smile as always!

This great looking card is from Jo Anne (Craftyladies) She made good use of her new Cuttlebug machine using the swirl folder as a background on lavender. She added a famous butterfly coming as a sticker like a peel off with gold dots on transparency. It allows you to add the background of your choice it is so versatile for a sticker. Jo Anne I loved it as soon as I got it out of the envelope as I was being very careful.
Thank you for the beautiful card that joined my beautiful card collection on my computer desk.
