Hi Friends
I know it is Sunday and I am here. But I thought since Carmel was asking me a question in the comment box on how I do the coloring on the Nesties (Referring to some of my cards I posted a few days ago) (See one attached below) here is how I did it:
You will need: Sponge dauber, matching color ink pad, Nesties of your choice, Cuttlebug machine.
Step one, is the usual you cut your shape first.
Step two, you emboss as usual, BUT, once it is embossed DO NOT REMOVE your cardstock from the Nesties keep it there and use a sponge dauber or any tool of your choice with the help of a rubberstamp pad (matching color). Turn the Nesties the soft side up (Cutting groove facing down), daub your sponge onto the ink pad, from the outside edge in motion, lightly all the way around, until you have the intensity of color you want. You want to do it softly to not make dark spots, this way if you want darker you can apply one more coat until you are satisfied with the effect
Step three, Remove the cardstock from the Nesties and voila. Done. (See one of the cards below for inspiration)
You can continue this technique to the inside of the shape making it look like a marbled effect but remember less is better when it comes to a soft background to make the main piece of interest of your card pop with a smile. hee hee
NOTE: This technique can also be used after having embossed with CB folders then step one to three is applied, the only difference is that you can use the sponge on the raised design after shading the the edges and other colors can be used.
I hope that helped, now I want to see it done on some of the cards you will send soon!
Have a great Sunday everyone!
Nicole :)
