Hi Friends
I am starting to feel better again. I don't sound good when I get up in the morning but it improves each day so I am getting there. I was off the internet for 3 extra long days LOL. On Wednesday night we experienced a quick 2 minutes power outage which hard booted our computers. We had to reboot to find out that we could not come back on the internet as we usually would do without even blinking. Well, this problem got us all puzzled, until we were asked if our landline phone was working. Ahhhhhh! Here we do things differently for phones then back home. We have to pay in advance for the phone connection and service so we had run out of money LOL. So I went to pay but I paid for the whole time we are going to be here so we don't have to worry about it anymore. There! So hubby came home from work and re-connected us again. There sits a happy Nikky! hee hee
Here are the fantastic cards for today:
Cornelia B. and her beautiful card to share:
This is a size A2 card and was easy to make. The bottom layer is a cream card which was folded in half. I embossed the next two layers and sized them 1/4" smaller for each colour. I decoupaged the daffodil girl image and shaded the background using chalks. After mounting all the layers, I wound a green ribbon around a MS punched border and embellished it with a flower which I cut from the middle of a tbag tile. As a finishing touch, 3 rhinestones were glued to the top corner of the card.
Colleen B. sent us her beautiful card with a brief description:
The golfers card

golf bag was clip art, cut out and secured with sticky dots.
Patti Jo shared her beautiful card accompanied with a description:
"Colored Dinner Tilda with Distress Inks. Used Nestabilities dies and a Sizzix embossing folder. For the flowers and fern used the Nellie Snellen punch and emboss punches and a Nankong punch for the leaves. Accented with pearls and Liquid Pearls for her necklace and bracelet."
Now a lovely card from Angela (Chorley Cake)
I used the ruffled bloom stamp by Stampendous, white embossing powder on blue card stock
Leafy branch cuttlebug folder on white card, chalked with blue
Punched leaves & cuttlebug oval & tag
Easel style card .... again ! I love these !
A beautiful card made by Dos with her cleverly added description with the picture of her card. Thanks for that Dos it is making it a lot easier for me to post at once. Thanks for thinking about it.
Janice's lovely card with description:
I firstly covered half of the square card with backing paper and rounded the corners of the card. I then embossed the heart with one of the Cuttlebug set of 4 Word Hearts. Then I used the square shaped Nesties - straight & scalloped edge to matt & layer the heart. Lastly I coloured the heart with chalks and added Glamour dust.
I then used the Martha Stewart border punch on both sides of a piece of co-ordinating card. Embossed a strip of white card with one of the borders from the Cuttlebug 'With Love' sets. Attached to card, added the heart, greeting and bow. Lastly I used Woodware punches for the large flowers and leaves, and a Carl punch for small leaves.
Ailsa made this pretty card and shared how to make it as follows:
I have had these pretty backing papers for some time now, and thought I would use some today, but as my first love has to be stitching I have stitched a design on an ATC size card. I have then layered a Fred she Said flower in the centre of this, and then layered this onto the backing paper. I have also used a paper flower as an added interest.
Here is Catherine's description and great looking card:
Here is a card I made for my granddaughter’s birthday she is 11 going on 20!!! As ever the main thing for me is simplicity. I have used the A5 swing card template from D0npen. This is much simpler to cut than it initially looked. I layered a contrasting mirror card on the “swing” part then used the “teen dressed up” 3d sheet from Nikky as the image. I layered mirror card and the vertical greetings from the D0npen greetings sheet down each side.
Thank you ladies for sharing your beautiful cards with all of us, I think showing a description on how you made it helps a lot of new card makers to see that it is not that complicated to make good looking cards intricate or not all cards have a personal touch to them which makes it all the more precious to be lucky to be at the receiving end. I am one of them that keeps all cards I have a box full and I keep changing the size of it as my precious collection keeps on growing.
Thanks for all the lovely comments left on here, I may not comment back on them but I sure do appreciate them all, some of you always know how to make me smile. Just a few words and you make my day!
Have a fun week everyone. I know mine is filled already but it is all in socializing fun as well as a few days saved for card making. Just a little of my cold left, so I am hoping I will feel as good as almost new this week hee hee.
Happy creative moments everyone!
Nicole :)
