Hi Friends
I hope you had a nice weekend. I am hopeful that this week I will be able to start making cards again. I have to make quite a bit, so I will have some to share with you within two weeks. I am so pleased with all the cards that were shared, it is inspiring me with so many ideas. Thank you so much!
Now comes the time to show off your work, here are the cards shared for today:
This beautiful card comes from Myrax. I really love the colors in this card well done Myrax!
I printed it out cut around the number 2 then embossed it with the swiss dots folder. Added the decoupaged teddy finally adding a gold bow to his collar. I think it makes an easy cute card for a toddler.
The next lovely card comes from Eunice and her short description. I love your card, thank you for the inspiration.
The idea for this card came from the June 2009 issue of Card Making magazine.
Cut a 21cm x 30cm piece of paper (I used paper I already had) place the pattern side up on your work surface with the long edges on the left and right.
Score horizontal lines across the paper: 3.7cm,7.5cm,11.2cm,15cm,18.7cm,22.5cm and 26.2cm down from the top edge. Valley fold the 7.5cm,15cm, and 22.5cm score lines then mountain fold the rest of the score lines to create the base concertina section of the card.
Place another piece of paper on your work surface with pattern side face up. Mountain fold the paper in half so the pattern is on the front and back and the white side on the inside. (Make templates for letters DAD) Put the letters on the paper making sure the top is flush with the folded edge. Cut out the letter cutting through both layers of paper but DO NOT cut the folded edge at the top of the letter. This will create a double layered letter.
Fix letter D to left of the concertina card. Use foam pads to secure the bottom of the back of the top layer of the letter to the concertina front. Fix the inside of the bottom layer of the letter to the back of the second folded section.
Fix the letter A to the front of the second section and back of the third section positioning it to the right of the letter D.
Attach the second letter D to the right of the letter A fixing it to the front of the third fold section and the back of the fourth section which is actually the back of the concertina card.
Add sentiment to front. It sounds complicated but as the card is put together it is very easy. This would be an easy Father's Day card.
Ladies your cards are terrific and an inspiration to all. Keep up the good work. Eunice
Sylvia E. shared her beautiful card and description here it is: (Well done Sylvia)
I have used black card and a Martha Stewart punch, then layered the image onto a Nellie frame, added some white card candy and a b&w ribbon
Joan (Hobbit) sent us her beautiful card, very lovely Joan and thank you! Well done
to make this Easel card, I used K&Company paper for the background and the Blue embossed strips across the card, I used Spellbinders Nestie Curved Rectangle for the blue and a smaller one in creme and then stamped a Castle on it. I colored the Princes & her Pony with Prisma Water Colors, and cut them out and mounted on the Castle. I added some sheer Lavender ribbon and purple satin ribbon down the side, and used MS Pop-up Daisy punch and cut them out of the three colors used on the card, and mounted them with light blue gem. The Happy Birthday is made from Spellbinder Excalibur Letter Dies.
Thank you for sharing, commenting, and visiting regularly. I try to keep this real and fun to come to every day. Thank you also for all the nice comments on the pictures we took of Hawaii, I always think that pictures are never giving enough justice to the real thing. But this is what I wanted to share with you. Now that I know Suz is supposed to be back home continuing to get better I wanted to share a picture of her and I in home. Oh and Suz, Mark and I both agreed you make the best Margaritas ever!
Thank you and have a great day!
Nicole :)
