Hi Friends
(Will post a teaser picture of the candy tomorrow) But there will be more added to it when I arrive home.
Well as I wanted to go to the market today my plans have been cut short as far as I know it. We are having a Typhoon, I know it was downgraded from a large one to I don't know what anymore but I know we are having rain and it is not bad, at least not like the last time we had one about a month ago and no one was telling us we were enjoying a very wet and windy typhoon then. One thing is for sure right now, I wish I could send 90% of that rain to Texas, as they are in a really bad drought and have been for most Summer. So to my friends in TX hang in there I am blowing it all your way. :}
So since I am sitting at home storming up some ideas, I thought Hey! Why don't I create a special day next week I will post all the mugs received by email on here. I want to have a "My favorite Mug, tea cup Day" So here how I want this to go. As of today, when you read this, please think about what mug, cup (tea or coffee) you enjoy using all the time. Then take a picture of it and send it to me by email. You will have until Friday, August 12 to send me your entry. I will prepare them all for posting as it makes it to my email box. I just think it is a fun idea to break the Dog Days of Summer. Who knows, my favorite cup may get you some candy I have gotten here at the market!
So please, it is our favorite mug day receiving until this coming weekend. Take a picture of a your favorite mug and send it to craftynikky@gmail.com asap. I will prepare them to post on Monday, August 15th.
When I return home, and settle in, I will let you know the rest but the more of you that participate the more I will add to the candy (Early October not much later) I will announce who won (Please one entry per person). (Make sure you add the name you want me to publish, because it will be the same name I will use for the winner) So ladies, lets make this a fun one. Tell your friends to participate, the more the better. If you can embellish your mug, tea cup photo with a fun flower or a flower arrangement next to it, make it homey and special and clear. Use your imagination.
I know you will have some beautiful MUGS or CUPS and SAUCERS to share. I am excited about this. In an email I received from Jean today, we were talking about the collection pieces I had gotten at the market lately and she said she was closing her eyes imagining she was drinking out of the koi fish cup and saucer I had posted a while ago. Then this idea popped into my mind, Thank you Jean. So Please, I am encouraging you to participate. It starts NOW!
I am also sharing a new quickie sheet I made this weekend. I will also try and prepare all the new sheets I have posted and some that I will not post on here, to add to the photobucket this week. As usual I will announce an UPDATE in the title telling you it has been done and also adding the name of the folders where I have added them to. Beleive me there are quite a few to add so you might want to keep an eye on this especially if you have not had much chance to upload them when they were here in this page.
Gone for now.... 3 more days to go for the favorite mug leading to blog candy. Will post a preview soon, I am in between shopping and uploading pictures, I have good intentions only the time is not on my side LOL but it is coming. Participate you will love it!
Now I wanted to send you a few pictures of the things I found while shopping with Mark at the Market last week. I had mentionned a jewelry cabinet as well as 2 more cup and saucer sets, we also found a GO game having an antique look to it so I hope you enjoy today's shares.
I had been looking at the porcelain detailed dolls (up above) for quite some time so I had an idea how much I should pay for them when I was ready to make my move. Waiting and asking for prices were of a great tool in my getting the set of 3 together in the end. Very happy and see I stayed within the confines of crafting :}
The fans were so beautifully detailed I had to turn it into a bundle deal and I have not shown them all but I have a weakness for fans as I am using them frequently in the Summer time.
Well, here are the last two of this collection of cup and saucers (with spoon) I had to get and lo and behold the salesperson remembered me from the last time, (not surprising) but I asked him to give them to me at the same price and he agreed. Shorter than having me crack down on getting them at that price anyway LOL. I would have the last word and he knew better hee hee
This is (up above) the Go game that is so famous here. I know that Hubby has played a few times in the past, he couldn't pass up this opportunity since this one had an antique look to it and we were getting the jewelry cabinet at the same place so we bundled the deals once again.
A very lovely ceramic fruit bowl I want to get 2 more of this motif, as it would be nice to have this one sitting with a pedestal plate for lack of better word (sorry) and a flower vase. They say when decorating we have to keep similar items together to make a great impact so I need to look for other items they had with this one. To be followed....
This was a tea set (sorry about the darkness of the photo) it is a crackled look ceramic set. We decided to get two as they are to be a perfect gift if we don't decide to keep it hee hee. Seriously though, they had many colors of this tea set we decided on pale blue and medium green between the 3 tones they had. (Pale blue is shown here)
My favorite piece as of yet is the jewelry cabinet. So versatile. The top swivvles into a mirror at a perfect angle for viewing scarves or jewelry chosen to wear. Compartmented with Vintage paper plus 6 drawers for silk scarves and the like. There are also 2 side doors for longer pieces to hang. This is going to be appreciated once we go home and find a nice corner for it.
Below is the bird cage I had been wanting to get for ages. I really like the look it has this egg shell with a tinge of green to it. I am sure this will look lovely once I decide what to add around it to make it pop even more in family room.
This tea set (below) caught my eye as it reminded me of a very old set I had seen a while ago and never dared asking for the cost of it. I knew it was a vintage set but this one looking so new was still going to do the trick and be a perfect present for family.
I hope you have enjoyed today's shares and please prepare your favorite MUG or Tea cup to send my email this week and I will not accept any other submissions after Friday the 12th at midnight my time zone.
Have a fantastic week!
