Here are a few photos of my later bargains, you know what I like about bargains?  Say you go shopping and you have $100. figuratively speaking.  All you need to do is ask prices individually of each item you have your eyes set on.  Then carefully add all of them and round the figure up say $15.  So you want to start your bargaining by asking if they want to lower the price for you with a smile of course.  Then, I usually make a smart comment like, a little too expensive for me, but thank you for your help.  If they want to sell you, they will come after you, actually they grab my arm here and offer the calculator to me.  That means make your offer.  So I said $15 right?  Well I go down to $7  first and they usually say oh no no no.  After this offer they go back to $14.  Then my turn to say too high too expensive but it's ok bye bye!  The dealing at this point is over they either let you go, or they say OK OK OK before you are too far.  But you leave at a slow pace but turn your back and don't look back while you pay attention to hear the price you want is accepted.  Then turn around and pay. LOL.  A lot of them have told me that I am a killer dealer LOL.  I go down to 50-60-70% depending on what I am looking at.  But all this time you are bargaining you are not letting on that you are wanting this piece more than any other object in the store.  Because if they get an inkling of your interest you will pay full price.  In most cases.  But practice makes almost perfect buying. 

Remember while dealing at markets, you are not asking for charity.  Don't worry about going down to about 70% to start because if you are obviously not a local person, sometimes it shows more than others, like us here.  You can surely and definitely know that they have boosted their local prices from 50% up to 80% that I have seen.  So once you know that you want to pay the local price which is still profitable to them, not to worry.

So when I do this and pay for most of what I want a little less than half the price I am allowing myself to buy more if I see something else I want later on.  So in the end you want more for your dollar.  If you don't, and you do like my husband does, he asks and they give him the price he then rushes to pay for it so I don't try to bargain for it hee hee.  But this is the basic of 
bargaining I even bargain in the main stores here.  My teacher is stunned when I tell her how much lower I get items sometimes.  She loves to shop with me and watch me having fun while getting my savings.

Here are what I have saved on:

This is part of the complete collection of the new pen coming out of the market called TOUCH!  This is half the collection if fits in two plastic containers like this one.  (168 of them)

This is an elegant bling ball point pen it glides like a dream so I got myself one as a treat.  Made by Picasso I am really enjoying and made sure to get some spare ink

I have a pound bag of half pearls so many different sizes and gorgeous colors.  I have blings also like this but I didn't take a picture sorry.

Grocery baskets.  Isn't that so darn cute?  If you want the size of this, you can sit one in one hand for the length to 5 inches high and it can be pushed into one another just like at the store. 

Pigment powder for polymer clay I enjoy playing with clay between card making so this should come in handy 4 inches high jars, lasting for a long time unless I spill it.

There are drawing pens.  They are comparable to the Micron from Sakura.  They have them in all the sizes as well.  Boxes of 12 are an easier deal $6 a package

UHU glue is a very good glue I saw them packaged in 10 so I again worked my magic 

This is the first time I saw a stamp set at any market here.  I took this oppurtunity to grab one it was $3.  It comes with the side pictures of romantic Paris. 

Those beads stole my heart when I saw them.  This gal knows I am always looking for something different.  Boy was she ever right.  It is not only antique looking but also shimmering in a fun way.  Beads extraordinaire I call them.  They had a green, peach, pink, and copper.  Colors I stick to like glue. 

This is a lovely watercolor journal.  It is a little smaller than an A4 size book.  Perfect size book for fun discovered recipes on trips.  I can add a cute border with watercolor paint.

Who hasn't seen these fantastic pen touch with a ball in it what moves around when you mix it? I really love these to make golden borders to matted pieces on our cards or borders on those cute Spellbinders labels to add such elegant dimension.  I like to add dots to my cards sometimes and the opaque white is excellent for it.

Storage box completely transparent less than a $1 a piece I got 8 of them.  It is stackable and love the feel of them very light as well.  You can see all of your pens in there even the number.  So I was happy to get myself the last 8 they had in store.  4 pink and 4 white.

 

With all the watercolor equipment I got I could not pass up the chance to get a really good priced A4 size watercolor paper with drawing tips inside.  25 sheets $3.

I found more giraffes stickers this time they were 3 inches high with some cute hearts.  Cards for children are so fun to make when you can play with stickers and let them have some to play with.  That little girl on the tin box holds little memory cards.  Ideal when you want to learn different words in a different language.  Spray bottles are also so practical to have for watercolor and dying your ribbons.  Glue sticks are a must so I got 6 of the medium sized ones as I don't want them to dry too quickly.  And lastly a tiny punch of a fern to be the size of the smallest flower punches we have, so I can have a leaf for them now. So fun!

I am telling you, if it's not one thing, it's another.  2 Laryngitis's in a row, what's next.  I have no voice at all.  The best I can do is whisper right now.  So I am not saying much, I am just smiling and showing I have no voice. To say hello, I just nod and point at what I want and it works.  I have a lot of practice at this method since I don't know how to translate all vegetable and fruit names at the market LOL.

I just came here quickly to let you know that I will post more pictures of my deals tomorrow.  I have been so busy and under the weather that sometimes I don't know, if I will have a normal day again before we move.  Hopefully I get my voice back because we are entertaining tomorrow night.  Oh dear!

Hi sweet crafting friends

Thank you for your beautiful comments.  Jaw dropping is ok but don't hurt yourself hee hee. I have some more pictures to share with you today as I am thinking you won't mind at all lol.

More stickers, these are puffy stickers that adds dimension.  I fell in love with the pill one to the right hee hee.  Since it is a topic du jour I figured it would be making really nice cards.  I have in mind to adding 1 to 3 pills on a card with a get better soon theme.  Because it has a little dimension to it, the card would be simple and yet very effective.  You may see a card from these stickers one day. 
Here is a close up of one of the note books I got.  Sorry I didn't take a picture of the inside.  The pages are all framed with a distressed look a little more subtle than the cover.

 This "Year Diary" book was particularly attractive because of the theme.  I went ahead and took pictures of some pages for you to enjoy.  Great size and great price.  $6.

Here are more photos of my shopping at the market to follow yesterday's photos.  I am posting this out here because you have asked to see them so here comes a few more.  Yes indeed I am happy I found some treasures before leaving here.  You may all think I have gone mad with my purchases but when I was just thinking about the drawing pens known as Micron by Sakura I use it a lot and compared prices online with here.  It was an easy answer that I would get a supply from here to last me for 10 years LOL.  Simbalion brand is similar to Micron only it is a blue colored pen on the outside.  I got a few sizes of that too.  They keep for years so this will be great savings for me.

This is one of many note books I found. This one has a really great masculine touch with the watch.  When opened you can see the full watch sketch inside.  So I thought it was a really nice one for my husband. 
Paint is what can be used on bottles, ceramic any surface that can take the paint marker.  I thought I should get one silver, gold and white for my stash.  I really like that at the Japanese restaurant we frequently eat at uses the paint pen to write names on the sake bottles.  Everytime we get a new bottle, we are asked to write our name on it and it survives handling quite well.
 This is a creative diary (scrapbook) it has a black and craft paper alternate pages in it with an elastic to keep the album closed.  Another greatly priced item.

 

STA is another brand of pens that is popular here.  Not only they have this set of 6 in black but it also is another great selection of great pens.  In all colors as well. More to follow. 

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  I am enjoying the weather it has started to be windy here but it is good.  The sky is so blue I really enjoy looking at it.  So walking during this time of the year is fantastic.  Have fun at whatever you do, make it great!

Here I come with a few photos of my wheeling and dealing last week.  Some photos I have a hard time to have it to show to full potential as some of the colors are really not wanting to come true for me.  So Just know it all looks better in the flesh as most cards does when photos are taken to share.

I knew that a lot of profit is made selling craft items but now I have a really good idea on how much. Wow LOL

Here are a few pictures for today:

 

 

Don't adjust your monitor this is not ribbon.  Something popular here is, they take these strips of paper and make some kind of star, folding it but I haven't tried it.  I want to use the strips for other purposes like tea fold designs for cards etc...

 
That was a really nice one I was interested in when I saw it.  Sometimes I just want a quick touch up for cheeks of a natural color on stamped images this could quickly help me out.  That one was a little more expensive but I splurged lol.  $5.

 As you can see this is a drawing pen system with special ink that won't smear and accessories to write from a small distance.  I had to grab the set as it was only 70 cents.  Spare ink cartridges were going for 50 cents so I grabbed a few.

I am not too fond of stickers most days but when I see stunning colors grabbing my attention I had to move get a few.  1 sheet of sticker less than a $1.  I grabbed about 6 of them.

 This is an A4 Clear book that stores 80 pages back to back but also fits 8.5 in X 11 in standard size in the US as well.  I had to get one when I noticed the price.  The colors are prettier off camera though. 

More to come tomorrow.  I have quite a few items but when you can get killer deals like that, I call it time to stock up on items we use all the time.  I am sure you would do the same.

Oh I am still around and fine

Oh I always love to read your comments, how revigorating of you thank you.

I am doing well and I am shopping and making the best I can of the time we have left here so it is fun and since the weather has cooled a little more but still warm I am smiling even more.  I also have to sort all the clothes and craft items to pick what to carry with me and to possibly us for the first month back home.  But as I promised I am dropping in to share a little quickie sheet for you.

Gone for now, thank you for all the lovely comments.  Yes it is a reminder that Christmas cards should be on the agenda very soon if you haven't started yet. 

I may show you some stationery I found on my shopping excursions.  But I don't want to bore you with it.  So give me a day or so and will share a little something but please feel totally free to leave a comment.  I found out that when it is not letting me leave a comment on other blogs, I copy the message and retry and most times it lets me leave it so if it erases your message you still can paste it back in.  I usually try 3 times and third strike out.  hee hee

Dear Friends

Lately I have been rather quiet on the blog which I haven't done that much since I opened it almost 5 years ago.  We are very busy here and I assure you it is only temporary.  I will make sure to come back as soon as possible but it is hard to concentrate on card making when so many other priorities are at hand.  So please come back regularly and see when I am posting something for you as I will try but I don't want this to replace what I need to get done here first.

I appreciate comments and emails as I read them and answer all emails coming to me.  So, at the end of the day I sit and read and smile.  So please keep me smiling and I will post a sheet soon.  I have a few for you.  But I want to spread them out until we are done with moving.

Mid-week quickie sheet

I hope you are enjoying your week with some fun projects not just hard work.  We have to keep some room for some fun don't we?

I wanted to thank you to have taken some precious time out of their busy schedule to play a little and tell us what you would use the clips and loops for (to be found in the last post).  I was really enjoying the ideas.  First of all I must tell you that my initial idea with them not knowing what other people had used to hang their ribbons, it was what I wanted to use the clips for.  To answer your question Angela, the clips come in different sizes I know of 2 sizes where I have purchased them.  The two sizes I am aware of are almost an inch long or 2.5 cm as for the smaller size is 2 cm long or 3/4 inch long.  So we can't hang belts from this I mean from the loop end.

My other idea was to use it for my silk scarves but I am not sure I will anymore as I would be afraid to pull some threads so I scratched that idea so I will be using my clips on ribbons as I have learned that when we see what we have close to us that we use more of it.  I have gotten some really nice lace ribbon while here so I will be able to display it near me for quick finding.

I also really loved the idea of hanging cards received and I too Kathy, as I am sure so many of us card makers that are participating in challenges, we get so many beautiful cards, we run out of space for them.  So for Christmas cards or all year round cards for that matter, clips like this or similar looking clips are a great idea to be used to display lovely work we have received in the mail.

Overall, I am sure if I sat long enough and look at what I can use these clips for in my craft room or around the house I would find more fun ideas.  But if you get the chance to get some clips for your ribbons, it might appeal to you for easy access to so many spools of ribbon we have accumulated over time.  The one ribbons that have become messy/tangled up, can now go to clips.

I hope you are enjoy the cooling weather, one thing is for sure, I don't miss the humidity at all.  It was so nice to go out today feeling a light breeze, as some of us says, I could feel the change in the air, I think it is so true we can almost touch it.  That's my weather bit of the day hee hee.  Have fun! 

 

 

Happy Labor Day everyone

Hi Friends

If it is Labor Day for you, I hope it is a happy one for you.  Thank you for the lovely comments on here as well as in my email.  I am doing better but still ways to go for feeling back to my cheerful self.  There is something good about this weekend for us, the humidity suddenly dropped by 30%, YEA! which is a huge difference going from miserable sticky weather to dry and sunny.  It is also cooler so this is good news for us.  I hope that if you were having really hot weather for a long time it is starting to cool for you as well.  I love Fall Ya'll.

Today I just wanted to share something I had found at the market that perhaps some of you already are using in your craft room.  So today I have a simple question for you.  Please reply in the comment box and let me know what you would do if this would be found on your craft table today?

 

Perhaps I should mention, all the clips are separate it is just packaged this way.

 

I am curious to know what you would do with clips and loops.  I have an idea but I wanted to see if there was more uses to these fun organizing tools.  20 per packages at 60 cents each.  So I had to get a few packages I will tell you later what I plan to use these for.  Perhaps you already are using these in your craft room.

I will share a quickie sheet soon.
