Hi friends
Well, I was spoiled and received so many Happy Birthday wishes throughout the day. Thank you to those who have left a little message on Facebook, I didn't know it was still active until my Birthday arrived. Geeperz, you all made my day so much more fun. It warmed my heart as Birthdays only get better with age. LOL that's my way of looking at it.
On the cold front, I was given my voice back for my Birthday so I was quite happy about it. It was too silent in the house without my voice, so I am back to health and ready to finish the tasks at hand which is finishing the sorting and dividing piles for the move. This time is easier since I know that if I forget to bring something in the suitcases we can read the store signs at home, so we can go get what we want and need it. Fabulous!
That means, we can drive again. Oh how sweet the thought is to me right now. So many things are popping into my head as I am day dreaming about food, driving at night, listening to the radio in the car, all the little silly things we do take for granted until we go head first into another culture. Wham! But it will be fun to unpack boxes we haven't seen in more than 3 years already. Yippee! Christmas all over again lol.
On the other hand there are a few things that will be missed from here. Such as good friends, but we have promised to email each other so I will be good with that I have quite a training in the matter. But nevertheless it will be on the sour grapes side for a few days until we realize we are home, looking for a new home. So all of it is good and we are so ready to see what the future holds for us. It's been great and it will be even greater to return home.
To answer a comment I have read, I wish I could give you addresses or names to contact to get some great deals, I don't think it would help anything since these people don't speak English plus, in order to sell to us back home we need some form of business as they would sell you but you would need to order thousands at a time. That's my understanding of it anyway since I too was looking into always getting deals directly from here. I know there are sites like Alibaba.com and others that are selling to anyone but I fear asking for prices because each item you are interested in getting, they base a price on the qty you want and I don't trust doing business this way on line. I have shopped around in markets to see how they change prices when you are an expat or visiting from other countries around the world.
Believe me if I could share the info that would be safe for you to use I would. So, this is why I am rushing to find as much as I can before I leave. I know I am only getting what I know will last and not dry out on me before I get the chance to use it all up. But, if you ever get the chance to visit other countries markets, always bargain, learn quickly, you will enjoy the savings too. Remember they hike the price as soon as they see you. Learn the language's numbers so you can hear what they charge the locals. You will see I am right.
Most items I have found for crafting have been items I had to look for behind the counters, in corners where no one really looks, remember markets are not tidy. Markets are made in such a way that it is practical for the booth owner to get their merchandise quickly, and where there is room they use it. They are and can be very creative lol. So perhaps this information will come in handy to you one of these days when you know you are visiting a foreign country. Learn the numbers...it will pay off.
In the meantime, if you have no travelling plans on the horizon, this is why I was sharing some of my experiences with you so you get to travel through my stories, you can get a good idea what it would be like if you had to try as well.
Here is a quickie sheet for you today, I hope you enjoy it:
Gone for now. Will resume decoupage quicky sheets when I am home again. Thank you.
Have a fun day. Again, thank you for all the lovely Birthday wishes, you are all so adorable, I am giving you a group hug right now!
Love and
