As promised here are the two cards I had made

Here are the two cards I had made for Valentine's Day one was partly done with my foil machine and the other one the usual way I make cards I hope you enjoy.

This first card was made partially with the help of my foil machine which is by the way called, Foil Master.  This is an A6 card, basically you take a full 8 1/2 inch X 11 inch and fold it in half, I call it a full size card.  I found an image to print, sized it to the size I needed it, and printed it out on a glossy photo paper.  Cut around it and matted to black CS.  I used a small heart punch and punched out 4 hearts.  I shaped them on a foam mat to give the hearts a natural curve and adhered it with 3D foam tape.  I also ran a grosgrain ribbon across the top to the bottom and around the black mat.  Attached this part to the Beige CS card.  I printed out the two layers one was the rose topper part and the one below it was printed on white CS to my laser printer which gave me a deep black border that I could pass through the Foil Master with foil on top of the black ink to give me this shiny gold frame.  I attached the rose image to the golden frame and the card was done!

This card was fun to make as well.  The black you see from the image is from black embossing powder.  The pinkish and greenish spots on the CS is a pattern paper made this way.  I wanted a tinge of pastel effect to stamp my image on and emboss.  Sorry we can't see the shyniness of the black embossing but you get the idea.

As per seen on the first photo of this card, I have simply used white, pink and black CS, I used the Swiss dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug on the pink and used the Spellbinder oval frame to accent the image.  I also used some satin ribbon to go across from left to right and give it a bit more dimension.  I hope you enjoyed this card as well.

I should have more cards to come this week.  I have been busy at making so many it is like a marathon right now.  But it is a challenge and I am up for it.  So as soon as I get my neck out for some fresh air I will add another card for you to see and the recipe for it.  Hoping that this can inspire you like I am inspired when I go through the internet and the awesome ideas I see.  Or I totally start from scratch and play around to see what the results will be. 

Finally over the Internet hickups.  Oh it has been a few trying days but it helped me focus on making cards though.  So that was my silver lining.  I could email, but could not use any links to take me anywhere.  But it is all going well now.

A Birthday card & an answer to your comments

Here is my newest Birthday card I made a few days ago.  It was fun as I had been inspired by a Website I was looking at one day.  I had been meaning to make a one single layer card for months and never had time to get around to making it.  So this week I thought, time to make it.  So here it is, if you like it I am also adding the recipe for it below:

Please use the photo below to see how to prepare to make this card.  It is very easy but setting up the card for inking and stamping needs a mask that you create.

You will need a ribbon of your choice 1/4 inch wide looks good.  Green Ink and sponge dauber from your stash. I have chosen for this project a Tim Holtz Distress Ink Crushed Olive.  A greeting stamp and markers or color pencils.  (No watercolor pencil will work on this technique).  Note that with a green background, the choice of colors that will come out looking beautiful are limited.  So pick something you can color yellow orange or green, in deeper hues to get the best color results.  If not sure, please practice on a separate cardstock with the green on first and trace the color on your green and see what it will look like when dry.  You can also use glitter or puff paint when the card is finished and dry.

Voila! the card is done and ready to please the recipient.

Answering your concerns about 3D sheets (please read the following)

I have noted that some of you are missing the 3D aspect of this blog.  Here is my answer.  Thank you for showing some interest in my 3D'ing images it is flattering.  Although, I have to tell you that since the images I am using come from different sources on the internet, the sources have gone sadly dry.  I have a few more images as I receive a few every now and then still, but I will make what I get and I will still keep up with the Photobuckets I have with more than 4,000 sheets to choose from at your disposition.  Sometimes we are facing things that are out of our control and this is one of those instances.

I do encourage you to send me images you would like to have me 3D for you but I will also post them on the blog as a quickie and if you miss you can go to the photobucket(s) and search by category to find the newly added sheet.  Any new sheet I add is added to the first page of each category so it is making your search a lot easier, calling it a time saver.

I hope that answers some of your concerns, I had mentionned my blog would change as time goes by and this is one of the things we will have less of but in return I will post some cards I made and recipes to make them with all sorts of medias I find taking interest to in the future.  This blog is for your entertainment only, a fair warning though, you might get addicted to it.  So, please use with caution. hee hee

Funny things happens

Hi Friends

I am noticing that my blog for today has disappeared, where? Nali nali as they say in Mandarin.  I have no idea I was sure I had saved it but anyhow, all of this to tell you that I will add it on next week's blogs.  I had spent a good hour preparing it and somehow it is nowhere to be found.  The Green man is at it again, Tis' the season for it LOL.  Jokingly so of course.

So I have a blog on Sunday for you with a card to share and then I will share Valentine's Day (2) cards I made this year.  One with my new foil machine and one regular card.  So come back on Sunday.

Where have you been Nikky? and Happy President's Day for those in the USA

Oh it has been quite a while.  Many good reasons for it, one of them is appointments galore with the medical world and my lack of time for creating made it hard to come and talk about what I had made when in fact, there was nothing to show for it.  But, in between those times I was idle from lack of time...hubby was creative and made for me what I had been wanting for at least 7 years but because of relocating constantly we had decided to wait until we settled in for a while LOL.  Understandably so.

So I must say I am back and will have loads to share with you for a while anyway.  I know it is unlike me to disappear from the blog world for months but sometimes life doesn't give us much choice and priority choosing has to take effect.

So I have photos of cards to share and photos of my newly made paper towers that hubby spent countless hours on to make it exactly like I had been wanting them.  Bless his heart, this man is the most patient man and such a keeper as well as he knows how talented I know he is.  I wanted to make sure I was mentionning this on  here because I know he is a follower too.

So here is a few photos of his labor of love for my crafting studio convenience.  I hope you enjoy!

 

 

130 cm/51 inches tall including wheels height it comes up to my neck.  If you wonder how many shelves I have there is a total of 40 in each of them multiplied by 2 gives me a total of 80 shelves for my cardstock.  There is 1 1/8 inch between each one or close to 3 cm and a half a small circle notch to allow easy access to the paper.

 

 

 

I am happy to be back with some material to share so next blog will be about another card I made with my Foiling Machine.  I hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day for those who like to celebrate their love an extra day during the year.  We had a mini snow storm that night on our way back home.  I can't see well on a rainy night driving imagine when the road is covered with enough snow to not see the lines on the road.  It was a long 10 miles to get home hee hee.

This is a photo of the mess while filling up the paper tower that day.  It was a real mess as you only see a fraction of what was all over the room but as some of you like to remind me that I don't know mess LOL I wanted to show you a little of it.  I just pick up whenever I have a chance.  But what I love about the things I need to use on a daily basis in my studio, is most of it is on wheels.  I can pull it close to me and when done I can bring it back to where it belongs.
