Hi Friends
Is it Summer yet? It sure feels like it here PHEW! HOT HOT HOT !!!!
I can't beleive how quickly a week goes by when I have gardening added to my daily tasks. I fear adding anymore new tasks to my already so taxed daily chores have been since we moved into this lovely house. But I tackle it the best way I can, one day at a time. Needless to say my days are gone in a snap and I am never bored.
That being said, I have another card to share with you, so here it is:
Staying within the butterfy theme, this time I have a Happy Birthday card to share.
The recipe is also very simple. White base card, Black and striped black and white pattern paper were used. I also used a golden pen around the edges of the card 2 pieces of ribbon, a Birthday sentiment rubberstamp, a stamped and black embossed butterfly and a Spellbinder Label to bare the Birthday sentiment. The two strips of ribbons were joined side by side and trimmed to desired effect. So this is the card for today. Very easy to assemble. The only tricky part was to play with the gold pen which was gushing a little because I hadn't used it in a good while. But a good pen will work wonders along with the use of a ruler to avoid the gold going anywhere else because this is permanent gold paint. Whatever it goes onto it will be there to stay so protect your work area with scrap paper. I will stain your work mat if you work with one.
The next time you make a card, try and find an older embellishment you have not touched in years...Let it come back to life. I know I love to use all sorts of things I have in my stash and see how well it will look like mixed with the newer tools we have acquired in the passed few years. If you are a newcomer in cardmaking just ignore this :) you are not there yet!
Have a wonderful weekend. Remember to smile it makes the most daunting task be more fun, it works for me.
