Hi Friends
I am sure I am not the only one enduring the solid heat we have been having for over a month now. Whew! It makes me want to get up at 5:30 am to just water/weed and maintain my gardens. It is never early enough now. So 5:30 am like Colleen does every day is what I am seriously contemplating. So I just got in and I will share another card with you for today. I hope you enjoy it and you can draw some ideas from it for a next card you may have to make for a relative or a friend, nevetheless we like to make special cards for the ones we care about.
Appropriate time for a Summer (Simmering days in the sun) for a guy's Birthday card. I thought this was so much fun to make. I colored this image with my prismacolor pencils and some areas were also colored by Copic pen. I have cut out around the image leaving some white margin for more interest and dimension.
I used a white CS base, then aqua blue and green. I used an embossing folder I had in my stash with tropical leaves. I found a sun image online with a cloud, I used a sentiment from my rubberstamp collection and the card was made. The coloring is always the longest part but it is so worth it in the end. I am one that doesn't care for bright colors as much as I love the pastels and subtleness. But when I do dare to make it bright, I am always afraid to do too much. So I kept this one simple and I think it was just enough. So I hope you enjoyed it!
A few pictures of the trees we have blooming right now and bringing over thousands of busy bees extracting the pollen. Amazing! I risked getting closer one day after taking an allergy tablet of course, I was watching them and all the back legs were so full of the powder they were collecting. I am sure there is a bee farm that will BEE happy to get so much more honey from our yard LOL. We are contemplating trying to get our own bees for own honey, but not this year thank you very much LOL
Once again I don't know the name of this tree but it also is a bush in the front garden. It is a very dry branched plant. Grows like weed too. Perhaps it is weed LOL
These are a few pictures of my back garden pond. This is where I had found my still unnamed bullfrog in one day, which seemed very much at home. But I had to purchase some koi fish to make the minnows appear in a smaller number as we can't catch them LOL. I will have to wait for the Fall and catch them and bring them to a minnow bait place. All I know is, the minnows are not appealing fishes to have nor will we care to keep them.
I have 2 gold fish in there, as you can see the big red belly guy is a gold fish and I have another shy one the same shape but he is goldish and we see him scavenging the bottom of the pond when the sun is in a specific angle during the day.
I have spotted koi fish the large one on the second photo orange, black and white I purchased 3 months ago when they were starting to sell them in the store for the outside ponds. He has grown so much since that day. His fins are getting wider and so beautiful. He is by far the fastest one in the aquarium and if one tries to pull a quick one on him, he is fast after their trail LOL. It is funny to see how they become.
Feeding time!
This goldfish looks like it is ready to burst at the seam LOL. But he is that way. I wanted to get the ones that has a very bulgy face and multiple fins but Holly Molly LOL they are selling them $35+ so what if it dies after the 7 days warranty? So I got the ones that were a decent size enough for a higher survival rate. It works and they are happy. We are too!
Speaking of HAPPY, I hope that you are happy living a nice Summer time too! We will be on vacation next week and part of the next one so I will post some and take some days off as well. I will make sure to take more pictures of my garden to share.
Make it a wonderful day!
