Hi Friends
Here we are just a few days away from one official Love Day! But as I always said "Who needs a special day to celebrate love?" I make it a mission to celebrate it on a daily basis, but yes, I know, it is a special day that we can also get a nice dinner with our fantastic significant other and toast to the wonderful memories had and the future ones to come. I know, I find this so much fun to look back on the whole journey and appreciate all the moments that made it into our memory book thus far. Awwwwwwww LOL I am getting soft here. Pardon my French in me LOL.
So here is the card I chose to display on here for you today:
I had so much fun making this card. The card base is CS I have had in my stash I beleive it was paper sold at the Stamp Conventions years ago, called Hanko Designs (Japanese style papers) he also have some gorgeous washi paper, which I will have to make cards with in the future. But getting back to the card at hand, the rest of CS is from SU whisper white. The circles from Spellbinder for the frame made in the same manner as the photo below
I used a stamp from Rubbernecker called Birch Forest. I colored the Birch with a little grey tinge and no other coloring was necessary since I wanted a Winter scene
I fixed the circle frame with 3D foam and then with a Memory Box Birch die I inked up the edge with some grey to add a more natural look and added a small punched heart in glitter specialty paper. Some Cheery Lynn Design corner dies were used and there you have a very simple card with a small interest RED embellishment.

Read further down, I am adding an extra card today. I have never had so many cards to share so I need to post more often or more at once. So there is an extra Valentine's Day card idea for you.
Recipe
This was one of my favorite cards. I love to step out of the expected when it comes to cardmaking and for those of you who have been following me for years now, you know I love conventional as well as the unconventional (step outside of one box is one thing among so many I enjoy doing)
The hearts are made with Encaustic Art (wax used with an iron Art). I lacquered the hearts to protect the wax coating and used some Gold Leaf Marker Brand, in Silver this time to do the heart edges. I stamped the window background first before I went on adding the frame with 3D foam that I had embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder. I did the same with the mat piece in white. I also cut a an extra frame piece by tracing the larger die cut I used for the frame and cut by hand. Placing the Royal Blue piece down first and then frame on top leaving a pretty edge around the frame popping it up some more.
The ribbon I used is my favorite color of ribbon outside of my egg white fave. But this color for this card was absolutely stunning. I was so impressed to see the overall look when all put together. Very elegant and would be a very lovely card to give to a man even. The ribbon was run across from the top to the bottom in one strip, tucked into the embossed layer, then I made a small bow and adhered it with a glue dot.
There, you have it. Another fun card to make and very quickly put together.
Thanks for dropping in to view my cards. I hope you have enjoyed the recipes along with the photos.
Have a fun day and please drop a comment if you have the time, I love smiling when I read them all.
