Hi Friends,
Thank you for all the gorgeous Birthday cards you have sent me, WOW I am still surrounding myself with them as all of them are inspiring me in many different ways and that is excellent for the days I feel my head is somewhere else than with card making.
First off, I have to say I had a fantastic Birthday on the 3rd of this month. Preparing the garden areas for Winter was a big priority as I prefer to do this now than cleaning up in the Spring when I have to plant and prepare the veggetable garden as well as planting my annuals. My tulips are there now ready for Spring to come. But first, I will totally enjoy Winter. I love the cooler weather a lot more than too hot.
In the meantime I have been very busy preparing for classes, had one first class of 2 sessions and it went so very well. I was back in my element showing others what I love to to, that's a nice job when I think of it. Among other things I made samples for the store and prepared some cards for Oct 26th class which is what I am sharing with you today.
These 2 cards had to be made this week in the blink of an eye in between Doctor's and Dentist's appointments, I was all over the place wanting to separate myself in 3 but that was just a wish.
I am hoping I can post every other day for a while now, I think I am catching up in a more encouraging way now since the outside is taken care of until we have to display the Halloween decorations out for the big night. (To see the kids's eyes when we open our big antique door, the exact same noise we hear in scary movies when doors are opening slowly, PRICELESS!)
My intent is ro not put you to sleep so I better show you the cards I have to prepare for class in a little more than a week from now.
First one is a Birthday card without the Sentiment on it yet. It will be determined in class what I will add for Sentiment.... so here it is:

Cardstock Bazzill (no texture) Butter mints, red. Gold CS. Flower from Susan's Garden (Sizzix) resized to fit smaller space. Liquid pearl (Avocado), Flowersoft (yellow).

Stamp set by JustRite Stampers, heat embossed in gold. Flower layer stamped and gold embossed as well, including sides.

Gold CS stripe with red stripe. Left side left empty for a Birthday Sentiment undetermined yet.

Tent fold card I had to recalculate from an A4 size page to a letter size USA to make a 5" square card for the purpose of this card.
My second card for this class is the following:

My Chalkboard Christmas delight

1 inch wide double bow in red silk ribbon. Watermark ink, white (Opaque) detailed embossing powder. Tim Holtz Snow flakes embossing folder. Red, Black, white and Silver CS was used. Liquid Pearl. Leave clusters die cuts from Impression Obsession and the Floral Delight from Memory Box

There is a chalkboard CS made especially for this type of technique. To the touch, it does have the feel of real chalkboard. I highly recommend this product as it will give you an even more realistic look in the end. I have added a small Flake from Memory Box. Ask for it, it is a specialty paper but worth every penny.
The flowers were cupped with a small stylus on a foam pad and embellished by using some Buttercup Liquid Pearl. Leaves were separated after veining and pinched for a fun and more realistic look and placed under the blooms where needed. I used "Fast grab" tacky glue always do with flower making.
When chalkboard is Watermark stamped and heat embossed in white is completed, just use some white chalk on a make up sponge and lightly rub some white on strategic places and rub down with a paper towel for a more subtle look. Test on a scrap piece first.
The stamp set is of Penny Black's "T" for Transparent stamp set called, "Glad Tidings" 30-2022
Thank you in advance for leaving your comments about my latest cards. I have much to show yet, so bare with me I will try and post every other day. Housework, exercising, cardmaking, emails, preparing for classes, blogging, I hope I can find more time for the blog because I have missed sharing with all of you. Thank you for your loyal support. It felt so good preparing this post. Enjoy!
Doing this at 5 am please forgive my typos
Have a wonderful weekend. Thanks for dropping by...
