Hi Friends,
I want to start with telling you about my crafting nightmare coming true a few days ago. You know I have an Ebosser machine if you are following me, that is. Anyway, on Monday I was in the process of preparing this card shown below, for a class on Feb 9th. Preparing about 8 kits with a card that contains so many different flowers, is quite the task.
I had been getting quite a few shocks while using my machine lately. Knowing from that, I wasn't grounded for this to happen. So when I could think of it, I would touch something else before running through my dies. Well, I was on a roll, then all of the sudden, my machine decided to not turn on anymore. Soooo, I called hubby over for him to check it for me, I was already feeling like even if he looks at it, my machine is gone!
After checking the circuit board, Mark confirmed what I had been afraid he would tell me. He told me, unless we can order a circuit board from the Craftwell company, that will determine if we can just order the part and fix it or will it be more expensive to fix as opposed to buying a new one.
To make a long story short, I was online trying to find a machine that would be delivered within 48 hours. We have written to the company and even today, 2 days later, we have yet gotten a response from them to tell us if we can buy a new circuit board to replace in my machine. But, we found one online through Amazon that could be delivered within 48 hours. So I am excited, I will be able to continue my kits today.
I had this machine since the first few weeks it was out on the market so more than a year and a half working the be-jesus out of it every single day. Having wrist issues, I must have an electric machine given that I have so many kits to prepare at once, it is my only solution.
As for the card share for today I must say, I have left out the Sentiment on this card because it is undertermined as of yet what this card will be for. As the subject was suggesting it could easily be used for a 50th Wedding Anniversary or a Mother's Day card or wedding and even Engagement card. It could easily be for a very special person in your life that deserves just a special card telling them "Just Because".
I hope you enjoy it and find some inspiration to make your own. I will list the die cuts I have used for this card so you can try and make your own.
You will need: Cheery Lynn Designs:
Mini fanciful flourish (left or right); Polynesian Sails Oval DL153; Shasta daisy B310 or ; Small and Medium rose B152 & B154; Tiny flower kit B376; Wheat heads B388; Italian Flourish tiny doily DL233; Lace corner Deco A B161. Impression Obsession’s 5 flowers DIE042-I. Lastly, Prickly pear’s scalloped oval PPRS D042. Paper used eggshell from stash and shimmering gold card stock. Memento ink Cantaloupe/ sponge dauber.
You will notice there are two different spots for the sentiment on the pictures. I was trying to decide which one was looking better.
This card was so rewarding in the making of it. The more I would add a variety of flowers the more this card was making me happy.
There is a new product out there that is imitating pollen, it is used in the Susan Thierney Cockburn collection of her flower die cuts. There are a selection of pollen colors, I have yellow for the time being but it does an even better job than Flowersoft since it is much much smaller and looks so much like pollen. This is what I have used on the daisies.
My all time new favorite die cut is the Wheat heads. A great filler to replace some leaves when necessary or just because you think it is needed.
February 9th class, this will be really fun to make
I hope my photos are doing justice to my card. I was really pleased with it, that's what really matters in the end. Satisfaction is one awesome feeling to have after working on flower arrangements on a card, at least, for me, it is.
Thank you for dropping in. I'm hoping this will inspire you to try your own and I assure you, it looks more complicated than it really is. If I can make it, you sure can too! I was so happy to see your latest comments, it feeds my creativity, so keep'em coming....I will share more...
Have a fun day! The more you create, the more your head wants to come up with more fun ideas.
Come again for more creations...
