Hi Friends,
Happy day! I hope Winter is easy on you. We are having some really lovely days here, at least in our garden these days we are enjoying high 60F's which to me is ideal weather. I can sit out there in the sun and enjoy my coffee while I can see my koi fish coming up to the surface to warm up, I bet it appreciates the lack of ice on the pond this year.
Back to the topic at hand, my coffee mug card. This card had to be easy peasy and a quick card for a make and take. It is sometimes hard to stop at simple but I had to pace myself and managed to do just that. So here are the photos of it with a little recipe to it if you are interested to try your hand at something similar.
The two stamps are from Impression Obsession by Alesa Baker Designs. The mug is E9160 and the straw C9158
I used Vintage Photo Distress ink for the coffee and the background as well as the edges of the main card. This card is 4 1/2 in X 4 1/2 in square. Unusual size but for this one I thought it was asking for a smaller card. Works for me.
The mug I stamped 3 times in Love Letter Memento, the straw just once. I had to try my old love, 3D'ing this mug and I did. The first layer was the full mug, I cut around it, second layer was cutting around the mug again but this time I removed the top part of the mug and the handle, third layer was to cut out with a craft knife the heart, I distressed it with the Vintage photo ink with a sponge dauber.
I made a mask so I could ink up the coffee in the cup and made a slit in the coffee line to add the straw there. Then I continued to build the coffee mug with second layer and the heart last. All layers except for the bottom layer were adhered with the use of foam dots. I inked up the white background edges. Distressed the edges, and the rest is easy to visualize.
I hope you enjoyed this much simpler to make card. A cute idea for a Valentine!
Have a fun day!
