Bucket of blooms with a burlap touch!

Hi Friends,

Thanks for all comments.  Today's card is a card I dared using burlap paper.  I hope you like the look, I thought since this is for a garden look I could perhaps add some burlap effect to it.  I have used a mix of die cuts on this card.  Impression Obsession DIE164-A Pail, Leafy branch DIE055-N, Small flowers DIE 140-D.  Cheery Lynn Design  B162 corner die set of 3. Pan pastel orange, micro applicator brush.

Once again I have used Tim Holtz Distress ink pad and dauber to highlight the corners and the burlap layer.

The burlap use I think, gave this card a garden style and really loved the rusty look with it.  Sometimes trying different looks pleasantly surprises me, so I play and enjoy!

One of my favorite flowers, the Orchid

Hi Friends,

We all know that nature has its huge variety of orchids in store for us.  I once went to an orchid show in San Francisco, I could not beleive how many varieties there were out there.  Needless to say, there was one for every budget out there.  The colors, the bloom shapes with spots, etc... was a treat for my flower loving eyes.  The simplest one is yet a favorite by far.  The fuchsia center with little dots is stunning.  I have seen other cards made with it and I thought, well, I should also give this my best shot, so I did.  Forgive me I have no specific name for it, but some of you out there probably know what its called.

After finally putting this flower together, once I knew I could get the hang of it quickly,  I made a few more to make sure that each one was always prettier than the previous one.  I know I still have to practice on this one, but, I think you will appreciate the look of this flower that nature is always so proud to deliver as an eye candy!

Impression Obsession dies DIE138-S Orchid and DIE 007-L leaves were used.  Spellbinder's Romantic Rectangles S5-090 was used.  Fuchsia pan pastel and Copic RV09 was also used.

I hope you enjoyed my rendition of an orchid, it is pleasing to see that we can come so close to making what nature never fails to impress us with.

Another Hollyhock thank you mini card

Hi Friends,

FInally I have a day to myself, so I can try and catch up with my card projects, ironing etc... See what comes first, ah ah.

I had another play with the Hollyhock DIE169-R, Pail DIE164-A, Tall grass by Impression Obsession and a Memory Box Lucienne #98774.  I have used Memory Box inks and Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads with sponge daubers to color layers.  Thanks a bunch from stash "Penny Black".  My card measures 3 in X 6 in

Here is my mini card for today:

I know this isn't pink, but, I thought since it was already cut, shaped and colored, why not make a small card with it.  So this is the result...I hope you like it!

I also sponge daubed the interior of the card's edges, I think it looks very elegant, stamping the Thanks a Bunch once again inside with a rusty and cloudy like background will complete it and make someone smile for sure.

Hollyhock bunch bouquet

Hi Friends,

I wanted to share a cute and easy card to make if you have the Hollyhock die cut from Impression Obsession.  Cut them up in your favorite Spring colors and chalk the center of each flower, bunch them up with some leafy branches (IO) as well and you get a beautiful card.  Stickles can also be added.  The bow I used was a gift we received when we attended the trunk show that Cheery Lynn Designs gave at the Hen House a few weekends ago. 

So here is the card, I hope you enjoy your eye candy!

I added some Glossy Accent on the flowers and ribbon to mimic water drops

 I plan on doing the same with pink, next!

I won't bore you with my being so very busy as it is not new to you to read.  But I will say this: "I'm NOT bored".  When you only hope a day had more than 24 hours in it, is an understatement for me.  But the question remains, how much more would a day be enough?  LOL  I have no number to suggest as it is never the same but at some point we need the sleep right?

So between appointments, gardening, errands, cleaning and classes, I noticed that the month of March is almost over and Spring has already Sprung in its cute official way as well.  What's not to love about it??  Some of you have already had more than enough of the white stuff and the extreme cold Winter you had.  So I hope Spring means much more to you this time around, go out and enjoy the warmer temps.  I try to do it too.

So for today I thought I should show you my latest card that was a success.  Sorry I couldn't post it sooner, time is not always on my side but, it's here now.  I hope you can find some inspiration through this Decoupage whimsical bear card.

Many techniques are involved in this card but goes to show how a whimsical image can come to life when used in that way.

Needed for this card:  A Stamp by Judith Bear stamp S-17, and coffee mug stamp D-135. 2 oval die cuts that are about ½ inch distance in between. Embossing folder basket weave pattern (Lifestyle Crafts) or any embossing folder can do for this.  Impression Obsession dies Spiral roses DIE042-I, the mini tulips DIE147-A, the mini leaves DIE150-D, leafy branch DIE055-N and Sprigs DIE112-D.  Cheery Lynn’s Baby’s breath Trio die B364.  

Rangers Glossy Accents, Black Micron or Copic pen 002 or 003 will do (very fine tip).  Foam dots or strips, double sided tape, fast grab tacky glue, glue dots etc. “Copic R27 red, Y13 Lemon Yellow and E27 Africano”, YG06 Yellowish Green or water based markers will also do the trick.  

Inks used are:  Memento Summer Sky, Tim Holtz Distress Inks Black Soot, Rusty Hinge, Tattered Rose and Vintage Photo.   1 Sponge Dauber for each color used.

 

This bear which is purchased as a full sized bear, was reduced to be used in a basket weave frame setting that would look totally adorable with flowers, I think I have accomplished the look I was in for.

The decoupaged bear (3 layers on this one) was fun to make and challenge myself by adding a Springlike feel to it.  I hope you enjoyed this card.  Have a fun weekend everyone.

Have you started to think about Easter yet?

I am so happy to share this card with you today.  Recently I have gotten a few die cuts to get my Easter cards going, I had a really fun time putting this one together, but I always say that....right? 

Saturday I had another amazing class, I just enjoy showing what I know and the satisfaction from people's reaction after a class is quite a great reward for me.  Another class that went by so very quickly.  I love who I get to teach to, getting to know many local ladies as well as meeting some that are visiting from out of State, have a safe trip back home.  Fran it was really nice to meet you.  Maribeth is enjoying flower making too, it was nice to see you again today.

I better get to the topic at hand now, it is about an Easter card I made this week.  I used the step card template for it and many dies.  So the dies I have used are the following:  Impression/Obsession DIE168-C 4 bunnies, DIE140-D 36 mini flowers, DIE060-I grass line.  Memory Box Dancing Butterflies 98576 and the rubber stamp used is called "Egg flower" by Artful stamper.  Cardstock from stash SU Vanilla, Lavender, green, and step card base is made in pastel yellow.

I didn't have any Easter pattern paper on hand when I made this card but if you were to make one the same, I can suggest you add a strip of this paper to the side and front panels.  This was a stamp that I decided to decoupage and I used the gold embossing powder with heat gun then colored the details.  This card could very easily read, Happy Spring!

My attempt at an Asian card

Hi Friends,

As promised I am sharing an Asian card this time.  One of my friends is into Asian cards, stamps, die cuts, etc...right now, so I thought I would use some of my small stash of Washi paper and come up with a cute design that brings a smile on everyone's face, I hope it works.

This card, was mainly created with my old stash of products I have accumulated over time.  My STUFF LOL.  I found an old rubber stamp fan and greetings in Japanese as well as the washi paper.  I then used some Pan Pastel to enhance the orange, yellow and green fans after I have gold embossed the desired designs.

I used 3 dies, Cheery Lynn Designs B376 a trio set of flowers, a Flourish Leaf strip B178, and lastly, a Memory Box #98793 Bamboo shoots, which I have gold embossed some of the tips to enhance the back of the fans.  A little bling is set in the middle of all the flowers. 

 

This is the inside of the card.  I hope you enjoyed today's card.  I wish that this card brings a little inspiration for your next card project.

Hi Friends,

I thought, I better write before you all think I am frozen in the Arctic ice never to come back again LOL.  But no, we are still enjoying our what seems to be a real Spring time in full force.  All the cherry blossoms are out and everything that blooms in Spring time is now blooming which makes me smile.

I have been busy the passed few days making more cards.  I am in the Spring mood with more blooming cards to come.  The reason it's not on here yet is because I have yet taken photos of them and tonight wasn't a good time since the photos at night are always inedaquate for your viewing pleasure.  I prefer the daylight ones and that you will get.

Also, between two cards, I was trying to clean my room full of STUFF as one of my friends would call it.  Then she adds, it's good stuff I wish was in my studio LOL. 

But first I have to attend the Stamp Show tomorrow.  It comes to town once a year and that's it!  So we are 3 of us to go to it I know I will enjoy it.  I am taking 2 happy rookies to a Stamp show so that will be fun.  Then on Sunday we are attending a Cheery Lynn Design class at the store and my week of 2 classes will begin.  So, by Monday, I should have at least one card to show for.  I hope all is well with everyone of my followers...

Hi Friends,

I keep talking about my Apricot tree in bloom, so I finally uploaded them for you to see.  Some people down East are shaking their heads knowing that some of us have a Spring Break so early.  But my choice is to stay warmer whenever I can.  I feel for them, I really do, but this is why we like the Southwest at least for one of the reasons.  It gets warmer sooner here.  We also get hotter sooner too, not so good but we take the good with the bad, we all have some of that no matter where we live don't we?

 

No worries the bees are already at work for us!  How lovely!

I took the photos and off I went so I didn't come in the middle of her work.  I hope you enjoyed the pictures.  Making you hope Spring is just around the corner, when it really is, just around the corner.  Just a few more days for some relief of warmer days ahead.  Smiles
