Hi Friends,
It probably crossed your mind by now that I am lily crazy as it is such a fun flower to make and to look at, in my ponds or in our garden around us. It is a flower that makes me smile everytime!!!!!!!!!! So here is my latest card made with lilies and small daisies.
Today's card is one I have used so many dies and paper punch but it all came together the way I had wished it would.
The daisies were punched out from petallic paper so is the pink background. I have embossed it with Sue Wilson's embossing folder so is the circle die cut. MFT for the lilies, the butterfly comes from one of the dies in my Memory Box collection, corners Cheery Lynn Designs. Birthday sentiment is one from Elizabeth's crafts. Half pearls, etc...
With the sun shining onto the card it gives you a better look at how the Petallic paper is really a beautiful shimmering paper to add to any card we make with flowers or anything we want a touch of elegance to. It will always add elegance to your cards. I use mine so it creates an impact on my card trying to hide as little as possible so we can see it all in its elegance. This paper is ideal for die cutting, as smooth as butter melting in a teflon pan. LOL
As for the tiny hearts string you see at the very bottom of the card; I had in front of me at the time a long acetate strip I had not used for one of my cards in a box I have already posted a few weeks ago and recently. I saw the tiny little hearts I had from the outside circle die left on my mat, so I cut a very skinny strip of acetate, folded it in half, then with tacky glue I glued on the little hearts with a little space in between, then I turned it around and went ahead adding the other side of the heart to double it up so it doesn't move once dried up. Also I wanted to make sure we wouldn't see an unfinished side. Time consuming but I really enjoyed the heart version of what you sometimes see with pearls, used on cards also.
I hope you have enjoyed today's card sharing. I may come back with another lily card yet, but not sure when. I will continue to share what I have already done a few days ago and from time to time share parts of my garden with you.
I spend easily 2 hours early in the day to water, fertilize, removing dead flowers, spraying for aphids when needed, weed, then take care of our reef aquarium and 2 ponds, removing floating leaves or flowers, feeding the fish, and the list goes on. So Summertime is a very busy time for us, but wow do we ever enjoy the view.
A few days ago, more news, we knew our A/C units were dragging at their very end eventhough we had one of them fixed a few years ago, it was showing fatigue all Winter and now that the 100F are here, one of them decided to go last Thursday night, SWELL.
Well, LOL, we had been fixing all around the house for 8 weeks on end, we were so happy that we had our list covered except for the dripping system on the back burner..... That night we knew it was going to be it for that unit. The pros came and gave us their estimate for one unit out of two or both at once. We were both shocked but after looking at what we were facing for repairs there was no point in patching for such expensive repairs when we can pay for the whole thing in 4 repairs and pay for the system each month and save half our bill right away. So we have made the decision to replace both units. YIKES!!!!!!!!! Talk about major expense. BUT they are coming to repair it all soon. We will have a crane removing the roof top units one at a time and then replacing them with new.
If life gives you lemons, well, we make lemonade, right? hee hee
Thanks for all your comments here or by email, you are the best!!!!!!!
Have a wonderful day, mine is awesome!
