Hi readers,
Not quite a card yet, you see, when I make flowers it is making my workplace environment quite busy. I have all the inks and ink pads, the pearls, glue, forming pads and styluses, etc... so I could go on and bore you non sense. But when my space is cluttered and I have all I need I find it hard to clear it all up and remove anything that may stain the cards I will be making because I am in flower mode LOL. So to make a long story short, I take advantage of my mess to a max! I mean it!
So yes, I made more flowers, as I had to experiment with my "ink jet ink kit" (say that 5 times quickly LOL) to see how much brighter the colors truly were. It is much brighter in fact it is very "inktense" if I can use this term. So I had to tone it down to my subtle tones I much prefer for some flowers and darker for others. But my true impression on my inks, the result is that, yes I can save on my re-inkers by using my ink jet ink refill bottles especially for pink, rose-red-yellows and blues. I was draining my re-inkers so quickly that I needed to find something that would replace and still be a pretty soft tone. It worked!!!!!!!!!!
Here are the latest flowers I made. The pointy flowers were made from a star shape I asked my Hubby to make for me on my Klic-N-Kut machine (like a silhouette cutting machine, only bigger as I can cut poster paper size on this machine).
Here they are in the same photo format as the last post you had seen. Enjoy!
Just a close up
This flower was made from a large 4 petals paper punch. I had to give it a try. I made 2 different centers, one with pearl and one with stamens. The blue color was from Memento re-inkers diluted with water. Dipped in dye for a minute and let dry. I then used my Tim Holtz paint dauber and marbelized the flowers with it. Randomly applying some ink wherever, no pattern. Once dry it is hard to tell what was used to stain the petals. LOVE this product!
These are mini roses from Marianne Designs circular LR0256. This makes the sweetest and loveliest flowers. If you had already used the circular 5 pieces of Impression Obsession roses this is the next step up roses. I love to be able to have different sizes of flowers on a spray so it is balancing the overall look, because the eye flows all across the sizes easily. If you go from a huge paper rose with leaves, it can stop there. But if you want some continuity, baby's breath flowers on branches are an option, and if you want to do more, remove baby's breath and add more roses of ascending or descending size, you will see a lovely spray of roses or other flowers forming.
Tip: Always build your spray of flowers on your card without gluing anything until you are satisfied.
This purple flower was another Marianne Designs die cut of 5 petals. But I modify them after they are cut. Slitting deeper into the middle of the flower. Dipping in die, scrunching in a little ball when wet, opened up to dry without trying to flatten up the paper. I dry mine with my heat tool. Forming and putting together. Lastly, adding stamens to them. Made much more than on photo

Can you tell I had a lot of purple dye made ahead? LOL
The subtle purple rose below was simply made out of the Spellbinder Rose Creations with 4 smallest sizes of dies, after having the card stock wet and scrunched up and left to dry all opened. Once dry I dipped the edges in the die and let it dry. Then I formed all petals and layered my flower, shape the petals so it is pleasing to the eye and looking like a decent rose.
The other two darker purple flowers were made out of a 6 petal punch 2 inches diameter. Stickles was applied after adding stamens into the center and around the stamens
This pink flowers with a yellow center. These were made with the Ink jet ink refill. We get to see a difference in the hue it gives. The yellow flowers below are the same. Bright yellow and pink. It is nice when you need something to stand out on a card. Yes, cards are coming LOL
Ink jet ink refill used on the yellow flowers as stated above
Last but not least, here is the pointy flower I was refering to up above. I love this flower. It is a little tricky to make but once it is all twisted up (every star leg) the result is amazing!!!!!!!!! I love this one and it is, aside from my all time favorite rose, my second favorite flower because of its stunning look and effect. This can also be made in all colors. I don't let colors dictate what color a flower should be. I try and be outside of the box when I need to make special flowers.
I hope you have enjoyed this post. It was fun to prepare and share with you. Enjoy your visit and please if you have questions or just comments, send them away as it is so encouraging to read them. Thank you for all the emails as well.
Have a fun week! A card should be next LOL
That's the plan
